I have not personally had one, but some perope i grew up with had a few. They were of various years and models, though all were pretty good sleds.

a friend of mines dad had one, and i remember it said 500 on it, and it was green!!!! and the windshield was a lil funky looking. I raced his son on it when i was on my ski-doo 700 and it was pretty even till i got to about 30mph, then it all went downhill for the deere.........sadly my dad got rid of it because he said i was too dangerous on it i told him "im not the one hittin lil bumps and ridin wheelies at 55mph!!!" he had a knack for that.

I used to have 3 of them. I used to work at a Deere Dealer in 82-84. I ask, cause they aren't made anymore like 3 wheeler's. Polaris bought the right's to them from Deere back in 1984.

You could get them in different colors on the later ones. I had an old 340 green/yellow, 400 green/yellow(both the old bubble style), and two later silver 440 trailfires. I belive they were kawi motors. Pretty fast too for their day. I don't remember any 500s but who knows. Other modles I can think of were the spitfire and liquidfire.

Oldschoolin86 you are right. They made the ones you mentioned, Plus: JDX4 340, JDX4 Special 340, JDX6 400, JDX8 440, Cyclone 340 & 440, Liquidator 340 & 440, 1st Generation Liquifire 340 & 440, Trailfire 340 & 440, Sportfire 440, 2nd Generation Liquifire 440, Spitfire,Snowfire, & Sprintfire. They started making them around 1970 with the 4,5,600 model's They called them "The Green Machine" & even "Big John". There are even some that I don't even know about. I had a 1976 440 Cyclone, 1980 440 Sportfire, & a 1983 2nd Generation 440 Liquifire.

I was pretty young when I had mine. I don't really remeber the years of them. My last trailfire was an 80 I think. I do remember that all of my machines had electric start. Even the old green ones. I sold that last trailfire in high school. It still ran good but I blew the track. I was getting into 3 wheelers at the time so I sold it and got my first 110.

Cartman,
What kind of Carburetors do they have??? just curious. My 1980-82 (not sure or the year) Kawasaki 440 intruder has 2 Mikuni carbs (2cylinder of course) and they are great working carbs.........and my friend that moved to alabama has one same model and everything (guy had two of them, me and my friend bought em both) and they have had this loud pingin noise.........dunno what it is for sure, i think it is the brakes on it rattling, but im not positive.
