Anyone have any input on the Yamaha Moto 4's.............. I might be acquiring one shortly, I think it's an 84?? Owner states it was running when it went into the shed appx 4-6 years ago.

Price is great............ I think??? 100.00
I would really like it for my kids.

The only way it isnt worth $100 is if it was stored in a barn with hay and goat crap......lol

In what way does a Moto4 question or request for input belong in the Trikesylania forum? Wouldn't a quad question or request for input be better suited for the quad forum?

Sorry Howdy................ I have alot of friends and respect for all the fellow trike people in the 3wheeler world.

Wasn't looking to ruffle your feathers, just looking for good friendly advise.

I have a 1985 Moto 4 80cc quad that my kids have ridden the mess out of and I bought it from a family whose boys had out grown in and had ridden the mess out of it. I doubt the engine has ever been into. I rebuilt the rear differential last summer and it is set to go another 24 years. One thing to watch for if the one you're getting is an 80cc quad...if it gets hard to start and doesn't run great after you get it started, then adjust the valves. Seems I have to adjust the valves on mine about twice a year to keep it running good. $100 is a good price, I paid $400 for mine.

That reminds me of a funny story. Right after I got my Tecate I was riding in the woods with my wife and two kids and they were all crammed on the little red Moto4 putting along. Anyway the Tecate died and I couldn't get it started so got my big but on the Moto 4 too, all four of us, maybe 500 pounds of people and that little joker just chugged along and got us all out of the woods, we looked like a circus act. I did have to get off on one uphill climb, it just couldn't pull us all, but it did a remarkabley good job for a tired old 80cc quad.

they really are ridiculous. and that seat is 9 freaking feet long.

hell...when schmee's 250r top end toasted, I was on the 70. I rolled up behind him, took my shoe off, put my big toe on the grab bar, and pushed him all the way home. we were doing 20+ mph the whole way.

I know when we were little we would put two on a 70 and 3 on a badger.

picture three kids damned near laid down in a hard turn on that sucker.
