View Full Version : MY daughters QUAD build

SYKO

well after mucho searching and not really finding what I wanted I decided to build her a quad from stuff I had.

what started as a bare blaster frame ended up as a roller today thanx to the suspension parts off the ninja blaster when I got it

powerplant will not be a blaster motor at all or even 2 stroke, plans are to use a trx 200sx motor since its a auto clutch with reverse and electric start

I just tossed in a old 200x motor to see if I working room at least

after I get the correct motor in and mocked up and everything welded correctly I will blast all the componenets and girlie it up for here

I think this will be a great quad in the end for her since it will be lighter then the old 200sx was and hard to say have better suspension then the old 200sx

going to put some small lowprofile tires all the way around and nerfs with heel guards as well for her.

here is a start

It's a shame to toss a blaster motor, there such tough little motors. I vote you keep the blaster motor, shes gonna have to learn to ride clutch sometime! Plus when she gets older you can just put some mods on it and it will be better then buying an all new bike.

Well if you pay attention to my posts about my daughter she has JRA witch greatly affects her wrists and hands so she will never probably have a quad with a clutch untill she is older and thinks she can handle the extra strain.

All her machines I have to modifie the carb spring and the throttle spring to make the throttle super easy to push along with having the brakes near perfect so she dosnt have to pull that hard for them to work.

Something you may want to look into Syko if she really wants a clutch is a hydraulic clutch lever....Ive heard they are almost effortless to pull in.

that may be a way, but I'll worry about that when we get to that point im looking for this quad to last her at least 6 years or so now.

and just think of the capabilities of the chassis alone on that thing. as she grows you can drop some coin and widen it up, perhaps and stretch it some with a +2 swiner and +1 forward arms up front... better shocks as well... could be one badass fourstroker.

SYKO
04-06-2009, 08:02 PM
hey man thanx!!! wow!! awesome!! yea thats what im thinking it can be modded for years to come make it handle great and look great im looking for it to last her till shes around 16 or so or longer.

I get the strange feeling I have seen that frame before.

LonesomeTriZ
04-12-2009, 07:22 AM
Are you going to keep the cable brakes on there. If not, I think I can help you out with a hydro rear caliper off a Z.

SYKO
04-12-2009, 11:38 AM
naw keeping the cables.... Ive learned how to adjust the blaster brakes to work well

LonesomeTriZ
04-13-2009, 02:29 AM
I think I all my parts went when I sold the Blaster. You will most likely have this done before I go home again, but if not I will dig around and see what I can come up with.

By the way, why didn't what's his name do the frame swap on the blaster? That is all it needed?

SYKO
04-13-2009, 08:09 AM
hes a dummy thats why

LonesomeTriZ
04-13-2009, 08:15 AM
Such a shame.

SYKO

LonesomeTriZ
04-14-2009, 03:36 AM
I wish I could have finished it. it would have been impressive considering what it is.

I think, do not quote me, but I think we may have some plastic that would work for your biuld.

SYKO
04-16-2009, 12:09 PM
well I got a junk 200sx motor from a freind of mine... it wont work in the frame its WAY to tall and if you got it to sit lower it would have major chain alignment issues, so im on the hunt for a 200e or 200m motor, something with electric start so she can hop on and take off or if any one has a goki kit for the 185-200s motors let me know!!!! plz!!!

LonesomeTriZ
04-17-2009, 12:47 AM
Have you thought about locating YTM/YFM engine with electric start?

SYKO
04-17-2009, 08:13 AM
naw....not even attempting to get one of those for it, its easier to find a honda motor and parts are easier and cheaper as well... no offense...

LonesomeTriZ
04-17-2009, 08:26 AM
That is becuase the Yamahas are still running. DOH!

SYKO
04-17-2009, 11:03 AM
yea cuz there to slow and ugly for any one to want to ride them!

LonesomeTriZ
04-17-2009, 11:09 AM
What happened to that carcass you had under the awning behind the old Chevy? Wasn't that a 225?

SYKO
04-17-2009, 11:19 AM

Actually a ytm-200 will walk away from any pre-86 Honda 200cc engine. I think it was Swigin that say that when he drag raced his ytm again a 200x he was winning race...

LonesomeTriZ
04-18-2009, 01:02 AM
That is what I was thinking as well. but I do agree that Honda stuff is cheaper and easier to get.

LonesomeTriZ
04-18-2009, 04:19 AM
I cannot tell if it is chain or shaft driven.

But the problem is that the chain driven ytm-200 don't have electric starter.

Lonesometri-z, I think the engine you find is from a chain driven ytm-200. The decompression lever on the head is supposed to be connected to a cable. The shaft driven 200 just have a black handle for the decompresion lever. Also the No electric starter tell me it is a chain driven engine.

Well, so much for that idea. I have been out of the game for so long I cannot remember anything about them.

well thanx to a gracious member my daughters quad has a engine!! a 200m motor! so she will have an auto clutch with electric start!

I worked on making most of the headpipe allready, I still need a carb for it all te plastics and some sort of hydraulic disc brake front spindles as cables will be way to hard for her to pull.

the rear end I swaped out with a tri-z swinger and axle for length and width plus hydraulic disc brakes as well

all I need to do is fab up some simple motor mounts and a couple other frame mods and its going!

if any one has any front hydraulic spindles they want to chunk I will be more then happy to take them for her quad!!! Ill post pics maybe friday or something.

warrior chassis?

SYKO
10-10-2009, 09:17 AM
no that would be way to heavy to house a 200 motor plus it would be to big for her.... lets just say..... a trike WAS harmed in this build!

oscarmayer
10-11-2009, 04:02 AM
hey syko, i can get ya carb if ya need one. i got liek 1 or 2 spares.

also i know a guy that does the chinese kiddyquads and i can probebly get you a full spindle and brake combo for cheap! (cable fronts but they would be new and working good)

SYKO

IM MAKING MY OWN ASTRO KIT!!

cut the blaster front end off and will run the stearing tube through the neck on the 200x, mate the frames together and walla!! I figured race cut blaster front fender cut to bolt to the sides of the 200x tank will work just fine:naughty:
