you guy can fish bass year round? they just changed that a few years back here in PA. but may-june you cannot keep them. I guess it has something to do with the spawn.

Heck ya. Those are some nice lookin bass. Me and the wife do alot of fishing up on Lake Erie with my dad when we're not riding in the summer. Mostly fish forperch but accasionally hit for walleye.
Pops has a 30 footer so it makes the lake seem calm.

I contacted the head office on my local guy and contacted the sheriffs dpt... it's now harassment for him to stop me... I neither hunt nor fish... long story.

Very nice haul! I sure miss large mouth fishing, not many up here in the Rocky Mountains...but we do have great elk hunting! Mostly walleye, smallmouth, and pike. Pics are from last year, just thawing out from the winter now.
That is one huge bluegill. Any more pics of it? Mounter?

We catch alot of LM around here, good size too but no pics with the digital so :(
I hope your gonna eat those or put em in your garden, shame to see them croak for no reason ? We always catch and release fresh water. Stripers and blues on the other hand are quite tasty
Tried to put some pics in but it says the files are to big

Nice fish. Did you catch them on artificial or live bait? I have a small lake in my back yard and I don't have recent pics, but I have been catching some nice largemouth at night on topwater.

the fished were skinned and eaten. my father in law loves bass. i prefer bluegill myself.
they were caught on a 8" lizard
we landed 30,000 pounds of Crab during a 48 hour straight marathon last week. Wanted to drop dead on deck by 30th hour - by the 40th hour it felt like I could go forever (mind tricks and uppers) when we finished I went down into the bunk and CRASHED for the full 16 hour steam home.

Mostly light salwater fishing here for us. Year round, too- pretty much. This is my wife's best redfish in the fall (September), and a Snook from October. Both caught on live shrimp.
She catches all the dang fish, I just rig the equipment and take the pics!

We got it pretty good down here from a weather temperature standpoint. We are really lucky that the only thing that will really hold us back is the wind.
Heck, this pic was taken the day after Thanksgiving!

You all eat and enjoy bass??? Not many people I know down here eat them. They are tough and not that flavorful, especially compared to something like the redfish my wife has up there!;)
Can't think that we are the only fishing enthusiasts here??!!!!?? Post up some braggin photos, boys!

Yeah! that's where its at right there! I love fishin for channel cats. The river levels are still a bit high here to fish for them.. but I'd prefer catfishin over almost anything. We regulary catch em in the 5-15lb range. whatcha catch them on? They bite on damn near anything around here. but mostly ckicken livers or crawfish,, nite crawlers are good too! We've got a few campsites down along a local river near here. I've spent many a summer night sittin by the fire chuggin beers for cats. good times!!!
trout season opened up in Pa last saturday but only in the southern counties. Only thing I caught so far was a buzz. :D
this thread is givin me the "ITCH!!!" :naughty: :beer
Best way to eat them cats is soak em in buttermilk... /then deep fry them in crushed pretzels (with some flour) as the coating.

Freshwater cats are good. I love them fried. Don't eat the saltwater cats though. Nasty.
Now, Saltwater trout on the other hand........:naughty:

i have a 20 acre pond in my back yard, has pike(1-3lbs), small mouth 1-5lbs! and largemouth(1-3lbs), the fishing is great and the pond is well stocked and unfished. the pond started out as a gravel pit but filled in with muck over 70 years and only gets about 6 feet deep max. the bass are plentiful but pike are few now. used to be every damn cast you caught a pike no lie like one pike per square meter, 2 summers ago we had really warm weather the pond got shallow and they all went bellie up what a site!
