while I allready had a 99 towncar in white that I planned on painting for my daily, I decided to sell it to help getting the rest of the money for my balloon payment for my house in june... I allready had a buyer so I was trying to get my truck done in enough time to drive it after I sold my TC... And I allready planned on buying another TC localy for 250 that was wrecked (93 model).

Since im a insurance adjuster and I travel alot... I noticed a 99 tc sitting next to a used car stealership a few months ago wrecked lightly in the front... I never paid it much attention becouse I allready had a 99... But yesturday as I was driving by it was still there and since im selling my white 99 I stoped in... I asked about if it was for sale and he said sure make me an offer I grabed the keys and checked it out... it hadng been started in nearly 5 months but it came to life and everything worked.

Checked it all out and checked the damage (unkown to him that I know completly how to fix it) I went back in and did the old " man its going to cost me alot to fix but im interested bit" so I offerd him......$250.. and he jumped at it!

I was like trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotr ailpro SWEET! a 99 towncar with lite damage for 250!!! score motherhumper!!!

so I picked it uptoday

and the best part of this deal? its BLACK! the color I planned on painting my white one when I was keeping it!

alot of miles 344k!!! but the engine has been replaced and is under 30k along with trans, and the underside is clean with no rust or leaks, so im good. has had a minor repaint in a few spots but nothing major

kinda going for something like this sweet and simple and not alot of work or upkeep when done

you know thats how I roll dawg weeel tawk!

yea the towncars have the actual interceptor motor but with a slightly lower govener, unlike say a lx vic or marquis

sometimes I do miss my old interceptor though... it was nice to cruis at 130 and have the gsp wave at me! lol!

When did you switch the rims and tires on the 99? I love how you just "find" crap all the time. If we do end up moving to that area Melissa will not allow us to play together. I drag enough stuff home on my own.

I drive hundreds of miles in my area I keep my eyes peeled for trikes/quads/lincolns lol!

there is another lincoln I may buy next week for the same price and just fix it and turn it for a dollar

all this is possible becouse im a hustler at heart.

fixed the common leaky cowl panel problem on these cars, it wasnt leakin bad but it was starting to so better fix it now then later.

put a regular wheel on so I could finaly test drive it

drives a bit weird, it needs an alignment, the stearing feels heavy but VERY responsive like my old interceptor I had. Then as im driving im like wtf? there isnt overdrive? yea there was the linkage must be off a slight bit thats all.

so other then some minor bugs everything is OK! :cheesy:

How did it run?

SYKO
04-11-2009, 09:38 AM
RUNS GREAT! just like any lincoln very smooth, I noticed a off idle stumble and at hard aceleration, wich I bleeive is a fuel delivery problem (new filter) and alot of seafoam at a half tank will cure. I got new platinum plugs for it and going to change the oil/trans fluid today as well, along with the rear end.

It has been taken care of and the correct oil used as well... most 4.6 motors do alittle smoke, most owners dont know you need to use a thinner oil this will combat that smoke, this car smokes NON hell even my white 99 does its morning puff when I start it.

its going to the shop today to hang out with my truck and other projects.
