I've been looking for a vehicle and have found these to be quite reasonably priced and not that bad of a rig. The aftermarket even carries quite a few parts for them. If I would get one I would definatly go for a 4.3L vortec V-6 (actually was standard in full-size Chevys). Heck they even make lifts for them any everything. Just wanted to know your guys's opions on them. Also what goes out on them first and what to look out for. Thanks! :)

First of all 82 didn't have a vortec 4.3L they just had a 4.3L like my 85 elco. Don't even try to get a 2.8L they just ball less. I'm the person that doesn't what a truck that needs to be smog with a carb on it and not fuel injection.

no really, i used to work at a chevy dealer and there wasnt too many blazers that came in. depending on what year you are lookin at, make sure all the recalls have been done. i know that in the mid 90's there was one for the 4x4 switch on the transfer case. those were easy to change and a good moneymaker :)

I've owned a 90 s-10 blazer with a 4.3l.it was a nice ride for 9yrs till the motor went.I did the coversion to a 350 and then it had some balls, but it was a pain in the arse because of the 4x4.then I owned a 99 for three months,It was the biggest pile of chit I've ever owned.now i have a 99
tahoe and that is 110% better than any s-10 made.if you want my opion you should try to get one from 89 to 94.older than 89 and you get the 2.8
junk, and newer than 94 and the motors had a lot of problems.
