Hey guys where's a good place to have a VHS tape converted to a CD or DVD. I saw a few ads for buying the hardware myself for between $50- and $200, but I really only have a couple tapes, and none are over 30 minutes.

I was looking at these options too.

For the price, it is almost better to get a DVD/VCR combo player, and record the VHS to dvd with it.
As far as someone else doing it, I have not checked, but any Photography shop would probably do it for you.

The VHS to DVD converters aren't that costly. I got a good refurbed one for under $100 shipped.

I bought a dvd recorder/vhs combo with my taxes. Toshiba for $179. It works great. I've done 20 or so tapes to dvd so far and have about that many to go yet. I have run into a few tapes that are actually copy protected though. The dvd player side is also hi def upconvert with hdmi capability so the picture is fantastic.

LIke I said I'd rather not spend $100 to transfer 2 short tapes. OH WELL...

I could probably transfer the 2 tapes for you if needed.

Howdy..Tim found a converter set-up on Ebay for like 40 bucks.
I have not looked into yet,but will probably go the combo route becuase I have a ton of VHS and C tapes to convert.Besides that I have no VCR anymore and could use another, and I have to update my C recorder with a new Digital set-up. Arggh...... Why cant they just leave things alone..LOL

Todd...Does Derick have that ride video I put together and sent him on VHS still?

Doe you think you could convert that to DVD for us and drop it in a Envelope and send it out?
