Anyone know where to find a +4 or +6 extended Swingarm for an 85 250R? Or any other way, besides staying off the throttle, to keep the front end on the ground?

Thanks

It'll be tough to find one for the 85 since it had a different bearing carrier set up than the 86 ATC/86-89 TRX.

You can extend the stock one or have it extended but unless you can do it yourself you're probably better off swapping the whole rear set up to an '86 and up style.

Huge differences from 85-86.
85 took a smaller diameter carrier and used linkage to mount the caliper.

You dont need a plus 4-6 to keep the front down.
A plus 2 will do a world of difference.
I agree with John R.
Get a Plus 2" 86 swinger for a TRX quad and the caliper bracket, and 86 carrier and update your 85 to the 86 set-up.
Or just have someone extend your 85.
We extended mine quite easily.

Regardless,it would be better to learn how to control the front end by riding on the stocker. Once you get used to it, it isnt that bad to keep the front end down.

less agressive tire with more air pressure would help too.... then you have to learn how to apply the power for maximum power delivery and traction,,, :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Thanks for the info. I have tried the stock tires, dirt tires, and paddles all at different pressures. Have even tried lowering the front end by changing the front shocks 2 inches in the triple clamps.

For general riding it is not an issue. The issue starts when you are headed up China Wall at Glamis or Choke Cherry at St Anthony and my 300 lbs sinks the rear shock and the front end gets real light.

On my Banshee I went to a +6 swinger and have no such issues as the front end is very heavy. So I figured a +4 would do my 250R just fine.

I am going to look into the 86 swap as there is a difference between the two years (figures) and I can find 86 parts.
