Ok here's the Skinny! I found this chart using the ratio's off of a DS 650 just for an example on me setting up my 600 for Drag racing this year.I ain't using this chart as the Holy Grail ,by no mean's ~ so too speak.I understand fully the dozen's of variable's that are associated with a DS 650 and a built XR 600R Custom Conversion,or whatever you wanna call my 600.Anyway's for instance mine is a 6 speed vs the 5 on the DS ,but I'm more or less looking at a good guestimate of where I'm gonna be at at the 300' mark,so I am taking some of this info into consideration but also being liberal at the same time.I also used a generic chart for ratio's and that chart was'nt even close to what I know the machine actually can do.With using the generic chart I came up with a top speed of 68 mph and some change in 6th gear with a 14/40 @ 7700 rpm. Thus the DS 650 was "somewhat" in the same ballpark.I know for a fact the top speed of my MDR600X is 84 mph top-end ping'd out -that's all it had ...and that was on a 2 mile all ball's out non stop -hard packed road straight run..Those are fact's - true - but that's not what I'm looking at is 2 mile run's,I need speed in 300'.

On the MDR600 in Haspin on that rocky/red clay terrain of a dragstrip ,w/running half wore ITP holeshot's I can launch off the line 2nd gear and i'm in the air,if I ride the clutch a sec(which I hate doing) I can manage 3rd . Way too much torque,I know.So if I start adding up the variable's with the XR 600 motor being from a bike and having a bigger rear sprocket & bigger narrower rear tire,I think that I can really do some drastic work on my gearing.Below I copied the chart on which I was kinda experimenting with the ratio's .Notice I really tweaked the gearing from 14/40 to 16/38. The biggest gear for a XR600R is a 16 and I run a 350X sprocket on the rear which is a 40.So there's an issue also,I have only found 40 rear's for the 350X model's.But none the less I already bought 15 and 16 tooth gear's for the front so that will get a bit of speed but I would'nt mind finding a 350X 38 rear ..

Here's the Question ~ Have any of you's ever had a custom 38 made up for a 350X or modded an existing 38 to fit a 350x. I checked sprocket specialtie's out of Cali. ,not offered but I think I can get one made up.Even if the 16/38 is too big of gearing I can alway's drop the front to a 12 sooooooo I doo have option's,lot's in fact. I just wanted some idea's guy's,for the 300 ft marker again not 2 mile run's.I'd appreciate anybody with constructive idea's and or suggestions to post. Thanks
