Hello
I have been cutting down trees in my wood lot to mill into lumber to build a new shop because my old shop is full of junk (Like every shop). I was dragging some trees out today n i busted the valve stem on my H. My tires are loaded with calcium and i was wondering is it best to pay and have the tube changed and loaded by a shop or is there some way you can buy calcium and mix it up and load a tube yourself.

Here we don't try to change tube for a tire bigger than 24 inch. We call the tractor tire specialist and they came at the farm for the repair. Tube is about 40%. Here they have the calcium pump and reservoir on the service truck. They will pump your old calcium if you still got some, change the tube, and put the calcium back into the tires. Probably a 150$-200$ job.

We've got a lot of those old tractors on the farm, and we always hate the tires that have fluid in them. It seems like they are always the ones that rust the rims to pieces right away. Thats some pretty corrosive stuff. If you can, I would recommend getting rid of the fluid and running weights on the back. The cast iron IH weights work great, but if you don't have access to any of them you can get creative with any old tractor weights or even make your own wheel weights out of concrete. For changing references, your tire is most likely a 12.4-38

oh and if your worried about the same thing happening again, you could weld on some valve stem protectors.
