A friend of mine has an air cooled 4 stroke Polaris 325 4x4 in his shop that someone violently exploded the top end in. The cylinder is junk, the rod is bent, and the head is pretty mangled but probably salvageable. I'm thinking about picking it up if his customer doesn't want to spend the money to fix it and if the price is right. Does anyone know if any of the other Polaris engines will bolt into it? Apparently they only used that 325 for a couple of years they are kind of hard to come by. If I can get a used, complete engine for it I'd probably have a go at fixing it.

Thanks.

Look over the bottom end very well. Early Polaris 2 strokes were good about the piston exploding then the chunks get around the crank and break the case.

Well shoot I thought all those early Polaris were 2 strokes.

Might try predatorowners.com see if someone there knows the answer.
