hey guys I am looking at a 2003 Honda Rancher I found near me for $2600 but it has no title. Do you guys know how to get a new title in PA or if to get it registered you need a title or just a bill of sale will work.

It depends on if it's lost or never had one. Here, if it never had one (meaning it was bought in a neighboring state that doesn't issue titles, like WI or IN), it is no problem to get a title and it costs me $55 iirc. I think replacing a lost is a little more hassle because they want the person that lost it to apply, not you the buyer. But like harryredtrike said it's different everywhere.

you must have the original title from the original owner here in PA. If you don't get a title with the deal - I would pass on it regardless cause you won;t be able to ride on any state trails whatsoever! It is a major pain in the butt to get around it - if possible at all!

Now in MI you get a title when you buy a new ATV from a dealer. On the 3 wheelers I have that didn't have a title I just got a bill of sale with the VIN # and go apply for a title. They run the VIN to see if it has been reported stolen

I am getting the VIN from the guy that has the 4 wheeler. But the thing is, if it runs through and is fine I will then apply for a title. But there is no guarantee that I am going to get the title. So I don't know if I should buy it or not.

Oops typo! Should be Indiana, not Michigan in my post.

Tim No bill of sale ATVs can be PA titled? I would think running the vin and bill of sale done deal....If your close enough to Ohio title it here, bill of sale style. WOW Pa has become kind NAZI with the rules for ATVs on State property. I know you need to have full on insurance now as 5yrs ago you didn't. The best is Dirtbikes don't aply to any of these odd rules.
