Heading to trikefest, and I'm shopping for a new tent. I need something that sleeps 8 or more. I prefer cabin tents over dome tents. Most important is that it stands up to heavy wind and rain. Hopefully it will last many trips and not cost more than $200.00.

Any suggestions?

yes high winds and heavy rain Tent.. buy extra stakes,, and buy a BIG tarp that will cover everything you own there including the tent.. and rope to tie that down .. not shure your gonna find the durability for $200..Think my olady spent 3 something for our (guide series) 8 man..

and that reminds me the zippers broke!

We just bought a 15' X 15' screened in Canopy for our TF "Mess Haul" today at K Mart for $32 (marked down from $79 - WOOT!!) They have some very nice large tents there for under $200. Might not be the best quality - but for the budget minded - looks pretty darned nice!

I bought a 20$ tent at Ocean State Job lot and threw it away after Trikefest.

It was so muddy, it wasn't worth cleaning

Tossed the air mattress too :D

Wal-mart has plenty. The coleman ones I would look to be the best of thier selction.

I do like the colemans, that swinging door on their tents is ingenious. I always hated the doors on tents because the zippers never work to good and are a pain. zzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

I have a Ozark Trail from walmart. your better off with 2 of these 4 man tents for 40 than a 8 man.

has compartments for your shoes that you can put your shoes into it before you enter the tent, and so far has been very durable, 5 years of use.

When we used to go camping up at Brainerd International Raceway, we would take a large pole tent 20' x 40' and set up our little tents under it... Rain or shine, the party was always at our camp site! (granted I used to work for a tent setting company...)

Found this one, it's called the "vacation home" it's 16'x14' I didn't buy it yet. Whatcha think? It's made by Northwest territory is that a dependable brand?

Edit: after searching the reviews on this tent I am not getting it.

I am leaning towards a Coleman weathermaster. Looks to be a solid tent, anybody have one? The reviews on it so far are promising

Here is a link to the weathermaster tent that I am considering. I have found it for as low as $179.00

Well if you have an EZ-UP, then turn it into a tent. Its versitile and takes like 5 mins to put up if that. They call it a Hanging Tent and walmart sells it for around 50$. Not only can you use the EZ-UP as shade, but use it as a tent later and there is TONs of room.

Its in the background in this pic.
