I have a 1995 Yamaha Timberwolf 250cc, 2wheeldrive.
It cranks over just fine, but won't start.
If I pull start it, it will start and stay running, but as soon as a shut it off it won't start again.
The spark seems a little weak if you ask me, compared to my 200cc dirtbike. I have replaced the CDI, and Coil and wire. But not the windings in the engine.

PLEASE, any sugestions???????
Thanks

have you replaced the spark plug?

Yes, I replaced the plug. I also checked the timing chain, and its fine.
This has been going on for a few months now.
I just went back out today and found that there is NO spark now!!! I did some testing with my multi meter and I think that the pickup coil in the windings is bad.
Any other ideas????

Have you checked the kill switch?

If the pickup coil is bad then I would say there is your problem.

Well, I looked at the kill switch, inside and out, and it looks like it's working to me.
I have test the windings before and sometimes I get good readings, and sometimes bad!
Anyone know where I can get a used one cheap?

Pickup coils are around 40 bucks new. Don't get a used one.
