Yeah and thats why you have no trees to cut. Lazy loggers use harvesters and bunchers. JK. I perfer working hard. I work at the first job of man.

im not a logger but i do a bunch of tree work in association with my lawn care company. Right now the only regular saw i own is an echo CS 370 and it is a great small saw, probably my favorite small saw to date.

My all time favorite saw is the 757 shindiawa. That thing is a horse. Nice and light but tons of power.

I have ran a 440 stihl and was pretty impressed, but i hate all of stihls handhelds. They are trash, but they do build a pretty good saw.

I hate huskys as well, hard starting gutless bastards in my experience.

I come from Family of tree killers. I went logging for 2 months following high school graduation. I quit and went in the ARMY, I wanted something easier than those nasty pines in Eastern Washington.

My dad is out of the active logging scene now, but he plays with the fastest chainsaws in the world. I have a few lifts under my belt, but it isn't for me.

the first link is from pacific raceways a few years back. My dad is the "little guy" with the 8

Sweet! I can't believe your dad made the predator. I seen that awhile back and wondered. Someone has WAYYY to much free time. But now I want one.

All these saws work. And I have "cut" wood with them all except the Mac. That one I might build something out of. I love the look of the old saws.

My dad didn't build the predator. His buddy by the name of "beer can" bob andrews did. My dad and bob have the fastest time known at .88 seconds on a 30" log. the predator is a very high dollar build (right around 15k) and my dads saws come in 3-4k each. To me the Harley powered saws are way more impressive, but that is my opinion.

Sweet Brapp. My old loggers outfit had a grapple. JD too. Yours have a steering wheel with 8 speed tranny? You log yourself? Im collecting saws. Like trikes but these are usually free. My 440 cost me over 1000$ a few years ago. I want bigger. Id like to get a 24 inch bar on the old girl.

MMMMMbig saws "Drool" I have walked my fair share of hikes to have carried a large saw. I would not have the heart to cut something that large down. Thats why i am in the maritimes. Nice vid. BIG WOOD!

I wondered when a logging/ wood cutting post would surface. Stihl vs. Husky is about as strong of an argument as Ford and Chevy. Seems like Huskys are bigger in the west, Stihl stronger in the east... who knows.

Personally... I own both, but as for large saws, Husky for sure. I just sold a 272XP on Ebay, and chose to keep my 61 (mostly for felling). Not a huge saw, but decent size and a quick cutter around here.
But... for the small saws I like my Stihls. My firewood saws are a 029 and a 031AV. Also have a couple Homelites an EZ and a 150. Also have a JD (Echo) 55V that I have probably used more than any of them.

Some guys hunt, or ride, because it gets them out in the woods and away from everything. Dont know why, but that is what I get out of cutting wood. Ill try to post up some pics.

You kidding? Huskys are known for being a preferred saw in the west.
I used to watch ax men too, and noticed most were huskys. I did notice that last year, the browning crew was using mostly Stihls though. I dont like that show like I used to, mostly just watch it to see the Pihl crew fight :).

Same. I hate nascar but love to watch the crashes. I see too many huskys breaking down or crash. hey husky guys sucks having to use your choke to shut the saw off. I like da big trees. Id cut a fort into one. One hell of a tree house.

I love the STIHL saw I borrow when (always) my McCullough is useless :( Steel crank in an aluminum housing with a useless chain adjustment.

Stihl or Husky all the way!!

shindaiwa all the way. We have 4 of them:
488 for the small jobs.
575
577
and the 757C for the real mens.http://www.shindaiwa.com/fra/fr/_images/products/chainsaws/enlarge/757.jpg
When the time will come to change the 757C, we will probably buy the bigger Husqvarna. More cc and less weight.

650 is a big rig, I mainly do high grade select-cut. So the little 230 works great for what i do, sneakin in and out. Also, you would be hard-pressed to burn more than 7 gals a day, great on fuel.
