I'm going to be honest here Mike, My X still runs, not broke but, I'm disgusted with it... The last ride we went on it ran really good. I got it home and let it sit for a couple of weeks without touching it. I go out to the shed, pull it out, check the oil and start it up, and it smoked like a freaking trainshens It cleared up some and i shut it off.. Went back to it a couple of hours later and the same thing again... I'm just pissed off about it that's all... I haven't even looked at it in a couple of weeks

^ Well, we had the valve cover off and it didn't look too bad. BUT, it wasn't previously assembled very well so I can't speak for the rings, valves, valve seals and other goodies. It didn't look like a qualified mechanic worked on it when we opened it up did it?? But, we were hopeful :(

Thats why it's always better to rebuild your own crap than to trust a "completely rebuilt" motor you buy from someone else.

I know you were looking for a good drop in replacement but, If ya can't hear it run or ride it - DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEVER trust other peoples interpretations of "IT RUNS MINT!!"

Save up for some parts and we'll make one nice one out of the two. I'd like to see what else got F'd with in there anyhow.

If it sat for a period of time with a valve slightly open, a bad valve seal would have filled the combustion chamber with any oil within that head.

It's a good trike with allot of improvements so don't give up yet :D

Na, Jeff, Steve had nothing to do with it:D It's just weird that's all, It ran great, no issues at all, I let it sit for a couple of weeks and go back to it and now it smokes
