my tri z will only start on choke and when it does it revs super high, I think its def a vacuum leak but since it revs so incredibly high by itself I would think that it would be easy to figure out were it is coming from. I have been looking for this vacuum leak for a couple of days now and I cant figure out were its coming from or if that's even the issue at all.
I had an air leak on my Z not so long ago and it was coming from a bad reed cage gasket. You might try spraying a little starting fluid in suspect areas with it running. If it idles higher your in the right area. The base of the cylinder is also a possibility.
