Got the wife's white Clarke tank from UPS today. Sat down to take pics Xmas style. Our wonder and amazement turned to WTF? Bubbles in the plastic, thin spots that you can see light through. Black stuff inside it. Looks like they took a dremel tool to the outside of it. Already called them to return it, and they are out of the office. The wife is pissed.. Just think a DC plastics white tank cover is 1/4 of the price. Here is the first we saw, its some popped bubbles in the plastic right on the seam on the right hand side above the petcock. There are several of these around the seams on both side. This is some seriously subpar sh!t right here.. For $237.97 they need to do something better than the junk they mailed us.
On another note, the blem $25 tank cover I got from DC plastics looks great. Go figure..

Doug Clarke have been around for a long time, I'm sure they would exchange it. Pretty poor quality control IMO, that sticks out like the proverbial.
That is a shame, I really wanted to buy a few new tanks. This kinda makes me think twice. If they send you another one then I would still be interested, if not I'll just paint my existing ones. Thanks for the heads up, I bet they will make things right.
OMG I have been creamin over the thought of a new Clarke Tecate tank for my ride. Its all I need to look just about brand new. If they are gonna be like that I will have to think about the DC cover, but I want a real Tank. Please keep us informed because this was my next big investment after the Sprock Cool Head. Damn I need that tank but that is just garbage you received. I hope they will send you a better one im sure they will but how did that ever make it out of QC? At least give it to you for $100 or so.
My tank skin ain't quite as good as yours, but ya, for the clams, I guess I'd better not complain. Did yours have holes in it to zip-tie it or some thing? Don't know what to tie it to. I threw it on real quick but didn't mess much with it, I'll post a picture on trikesyvania.
Okay, help me out here guys. I was figuring I read where some company was doing up new tanks in basically what ever colors you wanted. So with that in mind, I decided I want a black Tecate. I have that company logged into some thing some where in this computer from reading i done some time back. Please don't tell me it is Clark ??? Heck, you all know I have been known to sell 2nds. part, cosmetically not perfect but you know it right off the get go. yeah, I would be a little less then unhappy with that thinking it was a first class part. Is Clark the ones offering up the black tanks ???
How could they have even shipped something like that? I wonder how it would fit/mount on the tecate(if it's defective in the shape too). On another thought, a white tecate tank looks awesome.
John, these are the Clarke tanks that come in different colors including black. I was excited to hear about them making these, but I've heard of 3 of them, and 2 looked bad. There are 2 small spots inside this one (just above the frame backbone) that have to be paper thin. Thin enough you can see light through them looking through the gas inlet. There are several bubbles in the plastic around the seam of the tank. This makes me seriously sad to say the least. This is what's wrong with the world these days. Who in their right mind would ship this pos? It wouldn't surprise me if it leaked like a sieve.. This is what $240 will get you these days. Going to have a come to Jesus meeting with Clarke tomorrow or moday. This is bs..
