Hi, I recently purchased what was to believe a 1986 Honda 350X. I'm looking to restore it to as original condition as i can make it without breaking the bank. with that said it has a blue frame....... i can't find any where online that shows it would ever come with a blue frame. I can't see any signs of red on it so the guy would have ripped it all down, sand blasted it and repainted it just to have blue. Which i wasnt getting the impression this guy would do that. I can tell it has aftermarket rear fender and missing front fender which i'm looking for if anyone has. Trying to figure out the story behind this machine. My question is did honda ever make this blue frame or did this guy actually paint the whole thing? Thanks, Kevin
Never been a blue frame. Always always always red.
Definitely red. There are lots of different reds out there to choose from that are near perfect matches to the original. I would suggest powder coating it. Will cost you between $100-$300, but well worth it. Good luck. I'm doing a resto mod on my '86 now.
