I started driving my 250r and not even 5 minutes the thing started to overheat. I run 16:1 in the fuel. Also my cylinder head keeps coming loose, I tighten it twice a day of long riding. It also leaks and makes a mess. A response will be greatly appreciated.

Wow, you have a couple problems and they are probably related. One, your cylinder head should not be coming loose, let alone twice a ride. You might what to check and see if your studs or nuts are stripped. You also want to make sure you still have a copper head gasket sandwiched in there. Two, your leaking cylinder head is probably drawing in air and leaning out your fuel-air mixture, which will make it run hot. Three, 16:1 is way too much oil. Oil displaces fuel and again contributes to your lean condition. I know a lot of machines say to run 20:1 but in my opinion that is still too much oil. I've run 32:1 for years and have never had an engine seize on me. The first thing you need to do, however, is fix your cylinder head. There is no point to jetting the carburetor before that problem is fixed.
