I have a 1984 klt250. I just bought friction plates, steel plates, and clutch springs and i am going to replace them. My only problem is that i dont know how hard to torque the clutch spring bolts. Does anybody know?
Manual says 1.0 (7.2) kgf m (lbf ft)
Does your machine have any kind of top end tick? Mine ticks and i thought it was the valves, but i just adjusted them two weeks ago and ut still ticks.
I have 2, both 1983 models. One has some top end tick, and it has had that noise for a long time. I think it's just valve train noise, probably needs rebuilt, but I just use it for parades and just cruising around town occasionally, so not too worried about it. You probably have some slack in the cam chain that might not be taken up by the sliders--might be out of range of adjustment.
I have had mine for 3 years and it's been ticking since i got it. It hasnt gotten worse, but it hasnt gotten better either. Im soon going to replace the head gasket, so while im in there I'll check the cam chain. Thanks
