Jon Polo's 73 ATC70

Day one. This is what it looked like when I bought it from a guy in San Diego for $100.00 It was in running condition and complete. This being the first year of the ATC 70 there was doubt in my mind that this one had to be a restore. I did some research to find the neccesary parts to complete this project. I found Mike Palmgren at www.vintagemotorsports.net he makes factory duplicate fenders and decals. Let me tell you, they are very nice. Mike has been great helping me out with all my technical questions.

During the teardown.

Tank and frame after acid dip.

Frame has been primed.

Tank has been primed.

Tank and frame painted. Mike found an identical factory color match-Dupont Chroma Base M3348K "Billy Orange".

Fenders and decals from www.vintagemotorsports.net seat is new from Honda for a Honda Z50. I removed the foam and cover then installed them on my atc seat pan.

This is where we are as of 7-15-04. All the powder coat items are getting dropped off tommorrow...

Jon sent me some pictures of his parts after they came back from the powder coater, they are very nice looking. Check them out!

Heres a new picture of the stuff that has been Chromed and Zinc plated.

New Parts

Front and rear axles ready to install.

The rest of the zinc coated parts.

The exhaust has been Jet Hot ceramic coated flat black.

Finished at last.I would like to thank Mike Palmgren at www.vintagemotorsports.net which made this restore possible and Billy at 3WW for posting my project. It turned out great, infact too great. I havn't ridden it yet, don't want to scratch it. Anyone interested in purchasing this baby email me crnacnac@yahoo.com.
