Louis Mielke's 73 ATC500R
Hi!
First off great website. I'm so glad there are so many trike riders out there
still. I think you guys do a great job with the site and it just keeps getting
better. Second, I was wondering if you would like to put my project on the
Restorations/Projects page. I'm working on a Custom CR500 to ATC500 conversion
and have included some pictures for you to check out. I'm not sure how you
setup the projects page so if your interested let me know and I can send more
photos. I've done a pretty good job of taking digital photos to mark my
progress and have some info on final goals and specs.
A general rundown would be I have completed:
Started with frame from 1987 CR500R, a 86 CR500 engine and various parts from
a 1986 ATC250R.
Swing arm 100%
Swing arm was built by cuting and grafting a CR500 arm and a 400ex arm, using
the CR500 linkage, polished are and replaced all bearings.
Tires and axel parts 70%
Widening front forks and fitting front wheel 90%
EDM wire machined ATC250R triples clamps to fit CR500 forks.
Rebuilt 1986 engine 98%
new top end, new crank bearings/rod, new clutch, powder coated engine cases
NEW FMF gnarly Exhaust
Retro fitted 1987 frame with 92 radiators 70%
Rear suspension 0%
Plastic 0%
Rear subframe 5%
Frame painting 0%
Brakes 0%
Chain/sprokets 0%
Obviously much more to do. I have about $2000 in it and expect to spend another
$1000. Let me know if you wanna put it on the page and I can send more
pictures. Thanks for putting together an awsome site. Keep riding.
