Well, I spent the next week tearin it apart, lookin, and ordering parts. With help from a good friend, talking me into it, I got it down to the bare frame!! Something I had no intention of doing at first!! Well the parts started rollin in and I started cleaning and painting parts.

Well then came my favorite part, putting all the new stuff together, first the rear suspension on to the fresh frame, if you look close at these pics you can see the 2" swinger extension, pretty crude but it holds my ass....

After that I put the rear brake stuff, fresh carrier, and overflow on

By this time it was getting a little heavy for the one bolt holding it to the engine stand, so I had to do the fork seals, and put the new bearings in the neck, at the same time, put the rear axle back together, and get it on the floor again. I checked and re-wrapped the wiring harness also

Well, now all I had to do was get that motor back together and I'd be in business, well with that back in it and the carb all cleaned and the new exhaust on, I was ready to hear this beast run, no bars or anything that wasn't necessary to make it run, this pic was just before, I had to put the carb and exhaust on still

Three kicks and it fired right up and even wanted to idle, I was sportin a chubby!! So I shut it down and started to put the rest of it back together when I dumped in the antifreeze it poured out the bottom!! Ugggg One of the few things I didn't bother to check, the water pump assembly!! So I ordered the parts and fixed that, it was the mechanical water seal. So now for the test runs, running good but spittin and sputtering in the first few gears, but in the high RPM's it runs great and wants to flip over every time I shift. Well I did a plug check and it looked alright, messed with the float, needle position, and a few other thing for days and couldn't get the spittin and sputterin to go away. Then I got the idea to take the air box lid off, what a difference that made!!! Well in the process of getting the carb back in tune and the throttle response better, I squeezed the clutch in at about 50 on another 70-80 mph run, and it stayed in, well that's where I'm at right now, gotta order about $100 worth of parts and split the case again to get the clutch shaft out. Maybe within the next few weeks I'll be back in business. Here are a few pics of the close to finished product

Well, I don't think it's too bad for a $1500-$2000 machine, that you can't buy anymore, not to mention that you can't get an equal machine today for close to that!!
