John you rock.
We're gonna have to make plans again!
A good option if you want to keep the reserve is a crf450x petcock. It fits on the tank, so does crf450r and probably most other honda dirtbikes. Using the dirtbike petcocks, you will have to use a bracket to move the lever on a different part of the frame.
Im rockin a mid 80's cr 250 valve on one mine, bolt pattern is identical. Just have to keep an eye on your fuel level as it also has no reserve.
Well the petcock I have now, has no reserve or off position because the petcock internals are shot, which is why I'm looking for an alternate route.
Reserve doesn't matter, I just want to be able to stop the gas flow when I unhook my fuel line
I found an example of what a new assem. would cost
list ours
16955-KSC-003 JOINT ASSY., FUEL $21.71 $16.95 <Remove From Cart>
16950-KSC-003 PETCOCK ASSY. $28.24 $21.28
you just need to supply the fuel lines and bracket to mount petcock to.
Where is that at? ServiceHonda?
yeah, first price is list, second is their price.
For future searches.
The seal you need to rebuild a 250r petcock is six bucks at service honda. Just FYI.
Part number is 16955-HA2-005.
Fine addition to the Word Class Help section, me thinks.
K&L Supply already sells the adapter plates. You can just purchase it all.
Or,
You can just buy a brand new petcock from Honda for $59
