    ar filters on older sleds?

I have three early 80 sleds.(i think)! Thhey are a artic cat trail cat, johndeer spitfire and a ski doo.Not one of these have any kind of air filter, Air box or annything.Surley they should have something rite?I saw a K&N filter on ebay that might possibly clamp to the carb. Has anyone ever done this?

most sleds have air boxes.. not air filters.. Im shure if you dont have a airbox a clamp on would be fine.... not mutch dust and dirt around during winter ya know. most older sleds like to spit gas back out the carb at a idle..not shure if a filter would hold the gas and make it run flooded. Ive seen a lot with just a bell houseing on the carb..

I've seen alot of guys run their sleds without a air filter at all, no air box or anything.
