They are really not as hard as one one assume. To start off, take it off the bike, and loosen the two large locknuts all the way to take the tension off the spring. The spring will come off the opposite side of the shock, you have to take off the collar that the spring seats in. After you get that far, you have to remove the seal cover - aluminum piece near lower shock at the bottom of the body they make a special tool to unscrew this cap, but I usually use a pipe wrench or waterpump plires, just take it easy and use a rag so you dont mar it to hell. Once you get that off, there is a large C - clip that sits in the lower shock body. This is the hardest thing to get out. Once you get that off, you can basically slide the whole shaft out the bottom, and you will then be able to replace the seal/o rings. You will also have to find someone to recharge your shock with nitrogen after you get the new oil in in, and put it all back together. Most cycle shops can do this for around $5. This is just to get an idea on what to do. For some reason, the manual dosnt go into detail about how to change the seal, same as the yamaha ones. They say to just replace the shock absorber. I learned how to do this in my tecate manual. It actually gives some pictures, and tells you what to do step by step. If you need and further advice/help post it up on here. Good luck, and hope you get it done!
