That 250 class is gonna get shook up next year by a mean green machine that is under construction.

We'll have a good time next year big guy. Even as one of the players for the dominant team (Honda), I think things will be way more interesting if we can step up with some serious competition from the Yamasaki camp. The T3B I was riding in the 250 class on Saturday had a worn out motor and worn out studs but I still managed a top 3 in both my heat race and main. I should have entered it on Sunday in the road course since I swapped better studs onto it that I had let Roosty borrow for Saturday and it was like a whole different machine. I would usually get the holeshot on the 310 and 330 in the drag races on Sunday then it would take them to way past mid track to catch me, sometimes the 310 couldn't catch me at all but his studs were done. Next year its coming with a fresh top end, ported, a ton of compression, brand new studs, and a rear shock that isn't a pogo stick. If I had just had the good studs on it on Saturday I'd have been able to at least grab 2nd on Saturday (I went off the track twice with the worn out ones but managed 3rd) and I'd have given you a run for your money on Sunday.

All this chatter and know has yet given credit where credit is due, that I have seen! The 250 main was won by a completely bone stock (standerd bore) 1985 Tecate with that little bitty carb! Good job Tecat-z, even though they gave you the second place t-shirt! Cant wait for next year......as it will be my second time only on ice!

I looked at the video over and over again! It appears to me, I could be wrong, that Tecat-z got 1st place in the 250 oval main!

Ok I looked again......it appears that Tecat-z and JohnR ran hard for an additional lap! If thats the case then ChrisD was the winner!

They did run an additional lap. I felt like I was in the way with my 250. I could not get any traction with those studs. I still feel the pain of it..... Next year I am bringing new studs for the 250 too.

If we had gone through that last lap on the oval I was right there alongside of Tecat-Z at the start/finish line and I think I might have even got around him by then but the race was already over. I felt like an accident waiting to happen on my worn out studs too. That's why I sat out the race on Sunday. I put on a different set of studs just moments before the race started and I had no idea how they were gonna work. I have to watch the video again to check if I'm right about that "bonus" lap.

Bonus lap was pretty close till the last turn......i think that is when you realized that the race had already been over, and you just stopped! I am in need of a shorter swinger, that plus five just wore me out!

You'd have probably been better off with my worn out studs and I with your nice new ones. The longer swinger will slide easier with the worn studs on it. We were battling it out for a bunch of laps. Every time we'd hit the straightaway I'd watch you hook up and pull away a little, then I'd go deeper into the turn and get right back onto your rear tires before we got into the next turn. With decent studs on my T3 I think it would have been a much more interesting race.

That's what my CalFab is, +2" and its working good for me. When I had the stock arm on it the bike didn't want to get sideways, I think the stock arm left too much weight over the rear wheels.

yes yes, too much weight over the rear wheels...PERFECT! I liked the short swinger,LOTS of traction, that's why I was hanging off my bike as far as I was... power wheelies out of the corners, LOVED IT!

We'll have to see how the the BBZ handles out there next year with a +2 on it.

I too cannot wait to go ice racing again! That was my first time putting a 3 wheeler THAT sideways! All I can think about is racing again! TOO MUCH FUN! THANX GUYS!

I agree that lots of traction is good but when the machine won't turn because of it then that's not so good. Early in the year (before I finished putting my R together) I did a bunch of laps on my T3 with the stock arm and brand new studs. You come into the corner and it wouldn't turn, then when it finally did it wasn't settled at all. I never got to try it with the new studs and +2 but I think that would have been a nice balance. On the R a -1 seems to work pretty well but that trike needs all the traction it can get with the big motor in it. I may try going to a -1 on mine if I can find one cheap enough on ebay.
