Don't rub it in, . atc400x is keeps on dropping the hints as well, . I have already made plans with my wife to go to Panama . But I do have the ok to go the following year if they still have it . This way I can play at Silverlake to work out the bugs before I travel across the U.S.

I was out in the garage this afternoon and managed to get the 500 almost complete. I like this kick starter a lot better than the last one. It just clears the fenders, but you can't really get a good strong kick. Hopefully it will be a one kick bike once it gets warm and I won't have to remove the back fenders.
The only thing I have left to do is put new brake pads front and back, put the chain on (which is coming from my good friends at Full Bore Power Sports in Missouri) and mount up the engine skid plate. I also want to make a case saver and cover for the engine sprocket. If anyone has one please let me know or I'll be trying my hand at fabing one.
It feels almost perfect when you are sitting on it. I'm 1" lower to the ground than the 350x, but my seat height is about 2.5" higher. The rear suspension feels sweet as well. I think I'm going to add some spacers inside the front forks to stiffen them up. Other than that I can't wait to get it out for a test run!
Again, sorry for the poor quality of pictures, I'm not to good with a camera,

I used the '86 350x triples. I didn't touch the rake at all, just had to lengthen the tube on the triples by about a 1/2" because the neck was a touch longer on the bike frame.
    Thanks for the comments
not sure what a macro is Silverado, so I have to say no

Mine doesn't have one, BUT there are rivet holes from where the plate was. Also on my XR frame there is riveted plate, and a couple others ive seen.

I braved the cold temps. today to try out the 500. All I have to say is wow! That thing is wicked fast! I want to play with the gearing a bit. I think I will try it with 12/41 which is the same gearing ratio as the 500 (14/48) according to a web site that I found. I have a small oil leak which I think is from one of the valve adj. caps. The suspension work really great as well, It wasn't smooth but I was riding on a froozen plowed field with snow! No speed wables at all, didn't pull to one side at all on flat ground. I'm very happy with the first ride. I'm not to fussy with the twist throttle at all, I would rather have the thumb throttle, but like the idea of have the push/pull throttle so I know it won't stick open. I can't wait to get this machine in the sand!!!

Isn't a +3 close enough? lol. I'm not really an aggressive rider, so I should be good to go. I'll probably be in shock with everything that I've heard about the place!
I'm having problems getting my paddles to seal right, they are GBC sand devils. I posted in the invasion thread,
