I had another test ride today. This time I just stayed in the back yard. It's a very small oval track. I found a couple more oil leaks, nothing serious, just have to get a clutch pin oil seal. ( I replace all the other seals but forgot about that one) Thanks to Ross and Shannon, I have a set of paddles for the beast. I'm not going to post the final pictures of the bike until after the invasion. I believe that Atc eric is the only one that has seen the almost completed machine.

RoscoW, Scott and I tried to go for one last ride yesterday before it makes the long voyage to the dunes. It was not a good morning, we fought the snow and the snow won hands down, lol. I did manage to go for a small rip down a road to open it up, I wasn't to impressed with it, so I decided to head over to my parents place to open it up. There must have been something in the gas or a jet, but I didn't have any problems there! It really wakes up when the second carb kicks in! Hopefully there isn't a noise concern at the invasion.
Almost all my parts are in now and on the trike. I'm still waiting for an outerware for the airfilter and the tether kill switch (should be in Monday) Right now I'm running a 12 tooth front and a 41 tooth rear on 22" tires and it feels just about right for gearing. I'm going to bring extra sprockets, just in case I have to fine tune it.
I though I would try climbing a snow mound to simulate the sand, lol

It's been a while since we got back from the invasion, lol. Had a great time! the 500 would tractor up anything I put in it's path, lol. Had some minor things with the motor, it sounded like it was running lean at mid throttle, wide open the sound was gone. Still haven't totally figured the noise out yet. It's not nearly as bad now, I found a tear in a diaphram in one of the carbs, replaced all the o-rings to make sure that it wasn't sucking air. Another thing I had to do was change my air filter. I was using a K&N from the 500, my seat was hitting it when I was riding on ruff terrian. I just happen to stumble across an xr600 in a box and switched out the air filter. It is a better fit now. I have since bumped up my rear sprocket to a 43 tooth for more low end grunt. I couldn't pull second gear on the drag strip. Hopefully thats all the problems fixed now, I'll be trying it out next weekend at Silverlake!

The 500 motor didn't have enough snap to it, lol, so last winter I pulled the 500 out and slid in a 600. This bike is my favourite one to ride, trail or drag strip, you can creep along at low rpm's then hit the throttle and hang on!

What gearing do you think I should go with. I mostly putt around in the woods and occasionally make my friends 400's eat dust for a length or two. I love to jump anything I can(nothing over a gap, got a daughter to think about).

I havent even decided what rear and carrier to use in my 85 350x swinger yet.
    10 Buy it
    20 Beat it
30 Break it <----- Sometimes this is the end of the routine
    40 Fix it
    50 Sell it

I'm running 12/43 on 22" oem 350x tires, it has lots of grunt and will still keep pulling at 70 mph ( I let off, I have kids to, lol). In first gear I can idle and the motor will not die, it just keeps on chugging along. I put in a dura blue rear axle and an oem carrier.
