Why would you want to get rid of the high-lo gear box? I love mine.

Well my goal was to turn it into a racer. The SL 90 tranny shaft allows you to do so. Racers didn't need the hi-lo gearbox.

i agree. as much of a racer it will ever be a low gear ratio is always handy.

Cool. I don't know too much about racing 110's. Are you going to race it? Or just be retro with it?

For me its about building things and making them new more so than riding. Although riding them is awesome too. I just like redoing just about anything. I do machine repair for a living.

Spent some time in the shop today. I had never seen this SL90 tranny shaft conversion done. Heck I didn't know how it was done or anything until Shortline posted about it. So with his posts and a couple extra pictures oh how his left side cover was cut out I set out to cut mine for my motor. Didn't turn out bad at all. I have one hole that needs to be filled in. I use a product called LABMETAL when repairing things for powdercoat. It will work perfect for this application.
