I'm at a serious toss up. Do I go with a 2010 Polaris sportsman 800...or the suzuki KQ 750. The zuki seems more reliable by far.

Go with the Sportsman XP. Its an 850 right?

Suzuki IMO. Like mentioned..Reliability.
I had a zuki 4x4. In 2500 miles it was trouble free.
LOL, the Polaris walks all over it though.
first of all you guys obvisouly dont read and just post. he said he dont know what do get a polaris 800 or a suzuki king quad 750. puggerton he never said anything about a xp 850. he siad a 800. and factory maybe the polaris would walks all over it as you put it. but obvisouly stated he dont want it to walks all over everything. he wants the KQ becuase it is reliable. I would pick the 750 to if it was me.
If its to loud then your to old
I will see you at the finish line
Well I can personally state that Polaris is reliable as well, My friend owning a sports man 700 for 4 years riding it hard and not one problem. And another friend on 800 with no problems. I wonder how the xp sportsman handles.
My cousin has the xp and seems to really love it. I drove it, its pretty powerfull but not what I am looking for. I want to buy a 2010 yfz-450 SE.

Dirtbiken, No, he didnt mention the xp850. I simply gave my opinion. IMO, the XP is alot better than a regular Sportsman. OP, either machine is nice, wish I had your dilemma.

woa forum fight settle down guys we r all friends here
Why are some people so standoffish??? i mean who cares what he asked no harm no fowl for stating your opinion... persoally i would not buy either #1 both of em you have to get a dealer to wor on cause there so packed and hard to work on... they all break... #2 yamaha is always been the best and always will be... i watched a stock 700 grizly eat both them bikes up in a drag race soo its all in which one your more comfortable with.. Are you going to be pulling a goose neck trailer with it??? why do you need such a big displacement atv... if your gona get that big you might as well get a rhino or ranger or sumthin like that???? just my opinion DIRTBIKEN

Someone mentioned the dealer. An important aspect. I'd get a lesser machine if I thought the dealer was better. Dealer support means alot.
Seeins we're giving opinions,(LOL), I will mention that my neighbor has a Arctic Cat 400 4x4. He plows in the winter virtually comercially. It's rode every day. It's 4 years old and he put a starter in it this last winter. I'd have to look at a AC if I was going to go 4x4 again.
Why does Polaris make so many models?? Still trying to make a good one..j/k
Funny joke for a guy that's getting a Polaris 450MXR eh..HAHAHA
Easy guys easy. There's a method to my madness I promise.
1) I'd like to get a razr, but I'm not justifying 10k on another offroad vehicle.
2) I'd like to get a grizzly 700, they are reliable, put out decent hp and have a nice following with good aftermarket. Problem? Almost 9k out the door down here from most dealers.
3) I have a GREAT Artic Cat dealer right up the road who has a 2008 650 h1 trv, but won't come down off his 7400$ price tag.
4) The 850xp polaris really suits me (I'm big...it's big, great torque and power)... but reliability has been suffering. These big utilities are getting to the point where they have more suspension travel than most sports quads. Not to mention that polaris has unfortunately put tons of parts from China on this one. Wheel bearings failing at 300 miles isn't my cup of tea. Price tag....7300 OTD.
5) Polaris 500 is a great bike at a comparably low price 4500 OTD. But the power is lacking for something quite so heavy.
6) Brute Force 750 honestly isn't a bad bike, but at the price, you shouldn't have to change a bunch of little things right off the floor to make it a truly reliable machine. I know me...I'd eat a belt.
7) The Polaris 800 is a twin cylinder 760 cc motor with 50hp and nearly 50 ft/lbs of torque. It can tow just about ANYTHING in stock form. Reliability on the motor is unquestionable. They will run after being dunked time and time again. How Polaris managed to do that is completely beyond me. Very good aftermarket. Built in storage box from the front from the factory. Stealth snorkel systems available. I even like the color. Oh yeah....and 6500 OTD with a 4 year warranty from a GREAT dealer. Some people have some belt slippage issues from the factory, and some people have some issues with the belt housing leaking after a long time.
8) The suzuki 750... a late entry into this little contest. 49.6 hp.... a little over 40 on the torque. Naturally it's not going to have the torque of a big twin. BUT... I haven't been able to find a single issue with these bikes. The 750s seem to be utterly FLAWLESS in their mechanics. They are ugly as hell...BUT if you cough up a little cash and get the white one...they honestly don't look too bad. Tons of performance parts. Snorkel I can either make or get the triangle boys to make one. 5999 plus tax... from the same dealer I was gonna get the POPO from.
As for the 800 polaris walking all over the KQ...eh...it's got a ltitle more torque, and it is a little faster in a drag in stock form. As for a stock grizzly eating both of their lunches in a drag race... Negative. A stock grizzly is actually a fairly impressive ride. It's got enough oomph to put a helluva smile on your face. But power wise it isn't built to compete with either of these bikes. It's built to blow anything that honda has clean out of the water and be DEAD RELIABLE. Which it does quite well.
The Polaris 800 has better power, better suspension, better ride, better looks and better aftermarket. The KQ has better reliability. It's currently a toss up.
Should you want a fire breathing monster, coop mods to the 750 with a vdi...and it's throwing down the same HP as the new xp on a bike that weighs 160 pounds less.
what about the Can-Am 800? id rather have that then the polaris, but for me and utility 4x4s id stick with anything honda, yamaha, suzuki, or kawasaki. the can-am outlander is pretty awesome though. ALOT of power and a good alround machine.
thing is anything new will due
