Listen up boys and girls, this is the official Imperial Invasion 2011 Gordons Well Roll Call!!!!!!!!!!!
This thread is for SERIOUS PARTICIPANTS ONLY! Corey Sprock and I will be setting the official date later this week. Right now I need to know who is coming with us so I can come up with an accurate cost for everyone. Corey, Mr. Crum, and I as well as a few other brave souls spend a lot of time, and put a lot of effort, and money into this trip; so I need to know only those who are serious.
The date will more then likely be the end of February, into the beginning of March. The dealer show we will be attending in Indiana at the end of February will be the start of our adventure. From there we will be splitting off. Corey heads for Michigan, and I will most likely head further east both picking up your bikes. After the trip I will be bringing machines back east within a few weeks of the trip. So if we are transporting machines for you, they will be in my custody for up to one month from pick-up, to Cali, all the way to back home. I also frequent Pensacola Florida a few times a year. I can schedule a trip close to March to pick up bikes from down south if I get interest.
At this point Im thinking with the amount of interest we have had, we can keep the cost to around $400-500 per person depending on the volume of people. This does not include air fair. This cost will also go down with the more people that sign up. This cost WILL include:
-Safe transport of your machines to and from
-All the food you can eat
-All the fuel you can burn through your machine (93 octane)
-Shuttle from the airport in Yuma to the dunes, and back
-A Moderately stocked bar with a choice of beer and cocktails
Air Fare will range anywhere from $150-$300ish depending on how far in advance you book your flight. Everyone flying in will be responsible for booking their own flight. We should have anywhere around 4-5 open seats between the trucks. Anyone who wishes to ride with us is more then welcome to meet us in Missouri, or along the way.
Once we get a headcount, and I can come up with an accurate price for what it will cost per person, I will be requiring a non refundable deposit (refundable only on cancellation of trip) to save your place on this ride. I only say this for the possible drop outs. If I come up with a price, and have 3 people back out, that extra money comes straight out of our pocket. The last trip Corey spent in excess of $3,000 of his own money due to short falls. The deposit will help to soften the blow if I have someone promise me, and drop out. If I have everyone promised in at $500 per person, and 3 people say Im not going, that would end up costing me out of my pocket $1500. If we have to many people drop out, the price shortage would have to be spread amongst the remaining group.
We try to keep it as cheap as possible, and do not overcharge anyone for anything. If there is extra money at the end of the trip, the funds will be evenly redistributed to all participants.
This trip is extreme. I will be spending 7 days, and logging over 6000 miles on my truck for this trip. We put ourselves through absolute hell for this. Some may say the cost is to much, or the circumstances are ridiculous. I can guarantee you one thing, you will not second guess yourselves when you are staring at this come March:
Please post if you wish to attend, where you live, and what bike/bikes we are going to be retrieving.........
