    How To Disable the Oil Injection on ALT50??

    83 suzuki ALT50. I figured out where the carb lines, etc go but I am wondering how you know the oil injection is working? I am thinking it woiuld be better to just disable it and premix the gas. Is there any disadvantage to this? Is it just a matter of plugging the port by the intake?

    What ratio would you mix the fuel? Just mix with regular 2stroke oil?

    Also what oil do you guys use for the transmission? Manual says 20-40. We either have 10-40 or 20-50. which one?

    Id start with 20:1 but that's being on the extremely safe side of things. And yeah just regular 2 stroke oil should be fine. Most 2 stroke owners on here swear by the expensive stuff but the cheaper stuff from Wal-mart would be just fine. Id put in the 10-40 oil in the trans. just because it will flow easier.

    I would suggest not. There is an oil line leading to the main bearing on those. If you disable that, you will burn it up.
    run a clear line from the injector from the pump to intake and start it up, that will show the oil physically pumping through it.

    Do what 3wheelmecca says! I know very little about them.

    when i got my alt it had all the oil injection stuff missing. so i just pulled the side coverand gutted the pump so it wouldnt burn itself up trying to pump nothing. i take the 50 out for about 20 min at a time and havent had any issues with it so far, and ive had it out alot

    anyone else with a ALT50 have an answer or opinion on this? I will pick up some clear line to see if the pump is working. If its not, I dont really have any option right? Does anyone else on here just mix the fuel and disconnect the oil injection?

    Just make sure there is not a line going TO the crankcase for the main bearing, if so, run a line there only, but run 40:1 in the tank, if there is not, run 32:1 in it and ride. My DT175 that I just reringed had the pump crap out, scared the crap out of me. But then turned out it was injection only and not the CCI-type I have known. Make sure of all lines before anything. Where they go, routing, and flow. My DT just decided to never bleed up >

    I hate that self injecting stuff, I dont trust it thats why my blasters had block off kits xD. Cause I know that its getting oil if I mix it so I dont have to depend on the injector.

    There is a line going from the oil tank to the side case where the pump is mounted. Not sure if it goes to a main bearing inside or not. When I got it the line at the top of the oil tank was capped as was the cylinder head port. The only line connected was the one I mentioned from the bottom of the tank to the pump.
    How would I tell if it is used to lube the main bearing?
    So 32:1 would be a safe ratio.
    Im sure I am not the only one that has ran into this problem.

    It isn't CCI Type then. I only trusted 1 pump, and it burned up my MX175. run 32:1 and get rid of the injector tank and plug all lines.
    If you have a line going into the crankcase, not the injector, then it is CCI.

    I just looked in the manual and it says "lubrication system: CCI

    Here is a pic of where the line from the bottom of the oil tank goes. Also, 10-40 regular motor oil will be okay for the transmission right? I just noticed on another post someone had mentioned to make the oil had a MA rating and was approved for ATV's. The manual says 20-40 motor oil.

    I have had two bikes from the 70's that had oil injection, one a Suzuki with CCI and the other a Yamaha that simply dumped it into the carburetor. Never had a problem with either and it sure made things easy. The Suzuki CCI was very efficient on use of oil. Are they not reliable? I wonder how they fail. You'd think lubricated with oil and not under a lot of load, they'd outlast the bike engine. Or does dirt or something get into the off road machines oil tank and cause the pump to wear or seize?

    i had a 1973 suzuki ts 250k savage with cci and the thing worked like it was brand new. yes parts may fail from time to time but thats all in the game!! if you can get your oil injection working or is working keep it. i mean i only sold my ts about 3 years ago and the oil injection was still perfect after being made in 73 jmo

    When I got the trike, the port at the cylinder head was blocked off, and the top port on the oil tank was blocked off. The only line hooked up is the one from the bottom of the oil tank to the pump on the clutch cover. So I assumed it doesnt work because it wasnt hooked up anymore. I will try to hook it up, but if I put straight gas in the tank, and it doesnt pump oil, will it run without messing up the engine?
    I wonder what parts where out to make the pump stop working. I noticed on bikebandit the parts are all available for the oil pump.
    My boy is gonna be 3 on saturday so I am trying to get this working before then.
