So what is all done to the motor mod wise? I am assuming that it kicks to the rear as the fenders are cut but is it possible to convert the 490 motor to foreward kick in you experience? BTW that is a SWEET Z!

never tryed it ..it was easeyer to drag cut the fenders,, not shure you would get the rotation to fire it,, the kickstart ends up below the peg when kicking it.. you would be mashin that kicker into the footbeg every kick..
The crank has been knurled,Drag ported by dynoport, head has been re cut and the squish band removed, carbon fiber Reeds,..ect.. got a 44mm round slide I was thinkin about throwin on.. by leaning twards the 41.5mm PWK for that chrisp-ness!

worked on the lights today.. on the left a 490 stator, right a tri-z ,, between the two I got it figured out,, the yz stator plate is identical to the tri z ,,except the ground hole is not threded,, and the stator coil is bigger,,, so what we end up with is all yz stuff on a triz stator plate with a lighting coil!!! Red is hot... oh and my ITP rims.... sitting at 50"! studs installed in the cylinder...

Are you going to do the squish mod to prevent predetination? Or just run race gas? 490's are awesome engines. Nice build!
EDIT- I see you got it done, my bad. Should be a beast of a trike, good luck!

Your bike is looking really nice Bryan. So you threw a shorter swingarm on it then?

I'd like to know the vibration difference between the Z motor and the 490?
2007 YAMAHA YTZ450 went to a great home RIP Sam

Kasey built me a +6 for the dunes,, and the vibration,, is just a little stronger than a tri-z,, I really dont even notice it anymore,, and a new set of fat Oury grips helps, and I got a new seat comeing with new foam..So that should help also.I think the worse vib I ever expearanced was a cr500 in a quad frame..this is not even half as bad.

I have a +12,+6 and a stock length swingarm for this bike.
