custom yt175 rear suspension

I'm looking at fabricating some suspension for this trike - kits cost to much and usualy not complete.

I've got access to some old motorcycle swing arms, they have dual shocks on them.

What your guys thoughts of this idea? attach the swing arm to the frame close to the engine, use both struts and fabricate some brackets to hold the axel+brakes.

I've got 2 set ups to test this with. Before i proceed, I'd like some thoughts on this idea.

The best of luck with your project. I seriously doubt a dual shock swingarm will work. The yt175 frame isn't set up like that. The dual swingarms will put undue stress on the rear of the frame which isn't well reinforced as it is. A swingarm just sold on ebay for $60 bucks, but it was incomplete. If the buyer doesn't have access to another kit to copy all the bits, they are out of luck. The swingarm could be copied from steel tubing and you could make the upper shock mount. It probably wouldn't be cheap as there would be some machining as well. If you were really sadomasochistic, you could copy the Pro Tec kit from steel. LOL
