a block off plate will not fix the problem. you need to replace the O ring that goes around the pin on the back side of the piston. you will have to take the piston out and replace it. you will have to do all three while you are there. all of the O rings will only run about $8.

sooooo someone rigged it to use the piston of the caliper to do the stopping power?? wtf?? sounds like your 350x prev owner and my 20ox prev onwer were the same,.. mine had 400ex hubs welded to the axle, bent axle, shot carrier bearings, and swinger bearings were bad so long the races were smashed into the swinger
    86 200x, 1st gen 200x axle,400ex hubs,fmf megamax2 muffler

Three wheeler guys probably have the biggest balls out of all the ATV/Motorcycle riders. You just have to be a little twisted to ride them, and you have to be a great rider to do so.

I am so glad SOMEONE said this. You probably have corrosion on the smaller shaft of the caliper piston and a chewed up o-ring.......

Water/snow and parking brakes don't take long to eat away at that shaft.

When you install the new block off plate, make sure the 2 mating surfaces are flat and I use 3bond on them to keep fluids out.

    Time to rebuild the caliper......

It's about keeping trikes going, not the human race. We could all kill ourselves on anything we wanted to, trikes have nothing to do with drunk driving. But if someone chooses to drive a trike drunk then I hope they have fun. because sometimes that's all ya got.

This posting is about fixing a rear caliper, not the moral high ground.
The point I thought you would understand, being a 3 wheeler enthusiast is that 3 wheelers were outlawed, banned, because of just such actions. It was the minority driving drunk, no helmets, too small (skill level) for the size of the 3 wheeler. Now, in our current climate, the powers that be are looking for any reason to take away our land, and our rights to use 3 or 4 wheelers.

It's actions like drinking and driving 3 wheelers and atv's that give our enemies (yes, I said enemies) the ammo they need to talk stupid people (our government) into making stupid decisions (laws) that affect all of the members here negatively.

For you to condone someone drinking and driving a 3 wheeler is nothing short of ignorant in my opinion.
