1985 Honda Big Red 250ES and restored Cycle Country Plow in the Motor City!

Finally got around to getting some pics up.

Found this Cycle Country Plow after 2 years of looking for one. I was ready to give up and start fabricating something myself. Glad it came along. Paid $125.00 for it, pretty rusty when I bought it. Had it media blasted and powder coated black for $170.00. So I have have $295.00 dollars into it. The only thing I had to do was make a bracket to mount off the front downtube (the guy I bought plow from left his on his big red he sold), and I hung a length of chain off it connected to the plow. And also mounted a piece of 1/4 inch thick flat stock steel, 3inches wide, on the bottom of plow, so it takes a beating, rather than my curved blade. I think this was money well spent, in looking at its design and function, I would have to spend a decent amount of time fabricating to get the same function as this. I think Cycle Country has a good design.

Used it on its maiden voyage plowing the 5-6 inches of snow we got here in the Detroit area within the last couple days. Man does this thing work great! And fast! I"m stoked! I think it was money well spent. Hell, I"m not getting any younger, Im really starting to like "all things that are motorized and have electric start that help me get my work done"!! I'll I let my neighbor friend try it, he didnt want to get off, he said "this thing is fun"! He proceeded to plow half my long driveway, and all of his!

Very nimble and easy to get into tight spots. And with reverse on the big red, it sure made plowing fun and easy!! Next thing I'm going to do today is get it out on the lake and plow up the ice skating / hockey rink.

Had it out on Deer Lake, Big lake, Oakland County ice fishing. We're thinking of using Big Red to plow a oval or figure 8 track where we can stud up our dirt bike tires and rip them out on the lake. My buds got
Suzuki PE400 and a Honda CR500. They shoot pretty good ice roosters with cold cutters in em.

It was pretty darn rusty. So there was some pitting on the metal prior to powder coat. They did a good job on the powder coat belive it or not, lotsa paint applied. It plows fantastic. Didnt use any chains, although I have them, just need to find them, their in the garage somewhere.

I plow all winter with my BR without chains... Strap a tube of sand on the rear rack, it will make a big difference...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

I need a plow for the BR...been looking for a while now....but my snowblower dropped a valve the other night and she's kaputz.

Snow storm coming in the next couple days...would love to be able to plow it instead of hand shoveling.

    Looks good man...very nice.
