    Cylinder Head Bolt Stuck

One of the cap bolts on the inside of the cylinder head is stuck.I cannot make it budge.
Its not stripped or anything it just wont move.I can get a good angle on it but no luck.
(the bolts that use the allen head is the ones im talking about,im trying to remove the cylinder head)

    Any ideas!?

spray it with a good penetrating oil and let it set for a while and spray again every few hours or so.

r u just using standard style allen key? u probly don't have enough leverage. get an allen head socket, then use along handle 3/8s ratch n im sure it will pop lose. if its insid ethe valve cover then its always covered with oil and penetrating oil wont do anything. plus its steel goin into alum, which wont rust together, it might get cruddy with white stuff, but that wont stop it. u can try takin a punch that fits in the hole of the head of the bolt and give it a few good wacks with a , it'll help free up lock tight if its on there. well good luck

x2 with krazykar on the allen socket.

There is nothing like the reduced flex with the correct tools.
Like the difference between a lug wrench and a 1/2 inch breaker bar with the correct short extension.
When it does come loose, go back in a little a few times on the way out and THEN is also a good time to spray it since the oil can get in there.
You don't want to take the threads out with the bolt.

A scary thing is short blips with an air gun just to rattle it but EVERYthing can go wrong with an air gun. Stripped heads, threads coming out as a unit.

Talk to it nicely and take your time.

He may not have room for the socket and ratchet.

HEAT!! before you strip the allen bolt.

I'm sure I could get it out.......

What type/model of head is this?

1986 big red 250es ....I did the criss cross un tightning thing like the manual said and the other bolts came out easy,I mean they were in there tight but not as tight as this one is.I can get a rachet in there no problem but I dont have the right socket bit head for it.Gonna go try and find a set of hex/allen sockets for my ratchet

re-tioghten the otehrs down it could be if you loosene the others too much it's putting an angled pressure on the bolt. also re-tightening them while workign on the hard to remvoe one will help releive pressure and keep from other stuff getting damaged.
get a allen socket (think it's 6mm) put it on the bolt and hit it with a a few times before you put the rachet to it. that will help to jolt loose the corrusion. what has happeend is the dissimular metans (steel and alloy) have welded together so your fighting that.

Everyone is suppose to read that you can warp the head if you don't loosen each head bolt a little at a time, but he's not everyone
