    cr250r bog

Need some help here. I have an 84 cr250r that has a bog through the whole rpm range.
it has low compression but I don't think that's the cause. stock jetting. and it billows out smoke. I don't think its oil smoke it smells like raw gas and there's so much of it that it burns your eyes. any ideas on what to check? I did compression test and it got up to 120psi.
I don't know where to begin on it. Ive cleaned the carb and cleaned the reeds one was stuck open a bit. I'm out of ideas. the plug was fouled so i swapped it out. no change.

What do you mean one of the reeds was stuck open? If the reeds don't sit flush against the reed block then they need to be replaced. What mix of oil/gas are you using?

    32:1 maxima 927.
One of the reeds wasn't sitting flush. The reed wasn't damaged it was just sticking for whatever reason. I took both sides off cleaned them and reinstalled them and it seated just fine afterwords.
There was no change in how the bike ran though.
It has a dg pipe on it. and stock jetting so I know its not jetted correctly. but its acting like its running rich. crank seals crossed my mind. but it doesn't smell like trany oil. It splooges at every joint. and leaves oil specks all over the rear fender. like its running too rich.
worn rings crossed my mind. But would they cause an issue like this?

There's no air cleaner on it right now.It got burnt up in a fire awhile back. Bikes been sitting awhile as I was fixed the kickstarter.
but when it did have it I thought it may have been the air cleaner. So I cleaned it re oiled it and no change. Removed it no change. and now it doesn't have one.
could the rings cause this despite showing fair compression? I'm hoping I just overlooked something simple and can get it at least running ok before I dump a bunch of time and money on it.

Yes bad rings, piston, bore could cause this. 120 is low. I think anything under 150 is considered low.

Im probably going to ring in in a last ditch attempt. i was just hoping it may be something not adjusted correctly. my banshee with like 90 psi doesn't have any bogs. and it doesn't hardly smoke at all. not eye burning thick raunchy fumes like this...
