1986 honda ATC 200x AXLE KITS? AFTERMARKET AXLE??? DUREBLUE OR G-FORCE AXLE???

Hello everyone, I rode my '86 atc 200x last friday and got one left hub is stripped and it kinda ruined now.
Does the axle's company selling any rear aftermarket for it? like Dure blue, G-Force axle?? I seen them selling a lot axles for Honda 250x, 300ex, 400EX & 450R quads. I don't know if they selling one for mine 86 200x? If yes, then let me know so i will buy them

    Thanks Kev.

i dont think anyone makes a aftermarket axle for a 86/87 200x anymore. if im wrong im sorry. you could do what i did and have a 300ex style swingarm made for a 200x, (would be easier on 86-87) run nice new billet dual row carriers and 2+2 axle. the axle i got is a 2+4 dura blue on my 300ex.

hreatv.com could tell you more about it...he build mine. solved all my issues of finding 200x axles.

I hope someone here on 3wheelerworld will know more about it than i do.

Hey Oldskool83, Do you meant a COMPLETE REAR END OF 300EX and put it onto to rear subframe onto to an 86 atc 200x? how does that works? Sounds preety neat to me.

You can swap to a 1983-84 atc 250R axle...you need to mod the 86-87X bearing carrier a bit or use an aftermarket bearing carrier. The 83-84 axle is a bit wider too. I am doing the swap now...but some people on here have done it already and should be able to provide you with more details and some pictures.

There was a set up on EBAY a year ago that had a 300EX carrier and axle in the stock swinger. Whether it slid right in or he had to machine some things, I don't know but it was a clean swap.

83-84R axle fits perfect, must use 83/84 brake rotor and 2mm smaller ID axle seals. It also limits your sprocket choices unless you go to sprocket specialists.

Hi DC, what was the reason that you had to use the 83-84R brake disk hub? I was planning on using my 86X brake hub on my conversion. If you use an 83-85 200X seal on the sprocket side and a 86X seal on the brake rotor side the seal IDs and ODs will be correct for the R axle/86X brake hub. Other than that, the 86X brake hub slides right on the R axle and seems to be about the same width as the 83-84 R brake hub.....Have you found another reason it will not work? thanks..

It was close to a direct bolt in. The swinger was stock and the carrier was aftermarket. I bought part of that set up for the skid. I still have the swinger bolt.

300ex swinger will not fit without heavily modifying it and it is just a bit shorter than the 200x. 300ex swinger is wider both front and back. 300ex axle carrier is longer but does fit properly diameter wise in the 200x swinger. I'm sure it could be made to work pretty easy. 300ex axle is longer too - 1" or so.

The guy selling it had an 86 200X swinger and 300EX carrier/axle; Looked like a perfect set up!!

In your picture the swingers look similar or just a few MM's wider than the X in the carrier department; Or am I wrong??

X-File, both seals have to be 2MM smaller ID. The 200X rotor hub would not fit on the 83/84R axle or I'm crazy........... I remember waiting 2 weeks to get the hub and it's a 3 bolt so I could use that TUSK SS rotor I think the 200X was a 4 bolt, I'd have to look at my notes...
