    The Final Enduro Alaska?

It seems that it's time for a new camera. Anybody have any suggestions?

We just might be forced into the HD revolution.

    Thanks guys.

The Drift 170HD is getting some serious consideration, given that it has a built in screen and a remote. The GoPro looks awesome from the videos that people have put out, but the Drift has upped the ante in features.

Does anyone have experience with the Drift?

    Thumbs up

I noticed that there is a cheaper Gopro that doesn't have the 1080p, but still has the 720p at 60 frames. It looked to be under $200us and is well worth it. I have the 1080p but it will only shoot 30fps that high, I always run it at 720 and 60fps. Like you say though, no screen.

The videos in my sig are both done with that camera, they lost a lot of quality in the making process though. The US-90 video was created at a higher def and is a good example.

It would be nice to have both

Your videos are top notch btw, quality entertainment

    Bret,

I loved the perspective from the fender of the US-90. I guess that the 60 fps is important for slo-mo, but does the quality get significantly worse when you try to slow down the speed and you are at 720p?

I got a line on a franken-BW350 for $300. If it runs and drives, is it worth it?

Yes. You could part it out on ebay and make money, even if it blows up on you. The 350s were only made for 2 years and parts are scarce. The worst thing about BigWheels that haven't been maintained is getting the swingarm bolt seized to the adjusting cams to set the slack on the 530 chain. The swingarm bolt is nearly impossible to remove then. Run it until it blows up. And that will probably never happen. They are bulletproof.

Well when running 60fps I can drop to half speed and it wont be choppy at all. Most tv and youtube is all 28fps I think.

I looked into the cheaper GoPro 960, Unfortunately it doesn't have the 720p at 60fps. It's too bad really, as the 960 only costs $180. I'm sure it works great but slow mo would be choppy. I liked what I was getting at 720 @60fps so much I really haven't played around with the 720 or 1080 30fps much. The video off the camera is 10x better than what it ended up like on Youtube.

The Original HD hero with the 1080p 30fps and 720p 60fps is still $300. So its a toss up. I like the looks of the Drift, and the sound is good too. Having a screen would be a big plus over the Hero. There has been wasted time where I thought I was recording and was only taking some pics.

I finally settled on the Drift Stealth and ordered it off eBay for $270 + shipping. I hope it's easier to use than the GoPro. I have some of those pictures that were supposed to be videos as well.

Now all I have to do is quit working so I can get back to riding.
