    Smooth Moves Raffa!
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

Mickey on some of your 200X race chassis` what were you guys running for rear axles? (all my X`s rear axles are as strong as a coathanger)

second question...(as for all makes of trikes you raced) how much, if at all, did you experiment with steering rake angles and/or trail? Adjustable trees perhaps?

I can't remember who was making the axles, unless it was JP racing(now RPM),but I think that was with my Kawasaki in 85'.

Maybe Mike Coe could tell you because he ran my 200x in the 250 class once when I had already won my race and something happen to his 250 for the main. The reason he might remember because it broke on him.Have you tried Durablue?

If you look at my interveiw on the "Tiger" forum or where ever it is you will see I had just started playing with adjustable rake angles, but then I left that company.

    Sorry,not much help.

You know Mickey, you opend a big can o-worms.
Your gonna get a ton of questions about stuff like port flow, fluid dynamics, seat designs, cam designs, and more. I recommend you contact someone like web or powerroll (if you do not do that yourself already) and have them work with you to reproduce some of the stuff from yesteryear. I imagine it may be easier to just sell a cam or head than to have to explain to someone and then have it still not be right. Just a thought. I know you know a tun way more than me about these specifics.

Do you know a guy named Larry Widmer? He runs a shop called Endyn. www.theoldone.com if you wanna look him up. Big time head specialist for penski (sp?) racing back in the day.

Hey also, Does the name Jay Witt ring a bell? He says he remembers racing with you several times back in the late 80's early 90's.

Here's the thing,I tend to keep it real simple. You may see some gains on a full race 8 or even a 4 cylinder motor, but the samething that works and makes more power on those motors will do nothing for a little single 22 hp 200x. I don't think there is anyone on here building a super high tech motor for the 200x or 350x that is going to spend big bucks to see a half hp gain.I have been there and done that, and on the track you will not see any difference. In fact one of my fastest 250x class racer was bolted together by a customer. Curtis Sparks top riders got beat by this guy in TX,and Curtis said that is a bad motor Mickey built.lol So don't get caught up in all the hype.

Don't know any of those names.

ok just checking Jay rode around your time and Larry did some small motor work as well as big drag stuff. Penski's son raced motocross back then.

    Micky,
Its great to see some of these old pictures. Thanks for bringing back all our teen memories.

Do you remember the Honda mechanics and guys who did the prototyping for the atc/trx 250r. I've heard stories of Paul turner breaking out the acytelene and tin snips and making a whole pipe rite there to retune a motor to better suit rider prefernce and track conditions.

Yes Paul made the best pipes for the Honda's.

Stock rear wheel HP was 11 on a stock 200x on Powroll's dyno. 22 was my race bike.

Does anybody ever bring old stuff in and ask to make it run like your old race bikes?I remember reading magazines back then and drooling. The hop up parts were to exspensive for a kid that just dumped his wad on a 200x.A friend of mine had a Supertrapp and switched the cam out.We couldn't touch him.His parents had money though.
