Once again old man Neary found something I have never had, a pic of my xl175 Honda 3 wheeler modded.
In 82' I moved to So. Cal to chase after Team Honda, I built a machine I thought would run with the Honda boys. I started out with RM125 front forks which were not shorten as you can see. LOL It had a 1977 RM 125 aluminum gas tank, polished! I used the wide fiberglass ATC 90 fenders and seat. I also used a wide ATC 90 rear axles and a custom swing arm. There is a video he has at San Jose also with me working up to 4th just in front of Tommy as Sparks was way out front and two Yamaha 2 stroke in front of me until a weld broke on my coil mount. The track was like riding on ice but as the race went on before the coil mount problem the tires started heating up letting me get by Tommy. After that I moved back to Washington and only a few months later the 200x came out. I never took pics of this machine so I am once again greatfull the Neary took lots of pic back then.
Yes I had long hair back then, it was the 80's, what can I say! LOL

Since coming on here and getting back in to 3 wheelers, these are my builds.
First build was my Team Honda 200x that I finally got back after sitting 20 years in a barn.
I built my Big Red 250es into a 350cc with a clean look that has been my favorite and most fun to ride. I will build another one! LOL
Then Bryan Ditches 350x that turned out better then I thought.
My mini's were fun builds, but like the "Mad 70" guys warned me, don't go the 190cc motor in it, it's too much. They were right, but I had to do it. The motor would have been perfect in the 150cc suspended ATC I built, but that was just going to be my pit bike so I went with the electric starts. The builds would have been better if I would have switched motors between the two.
I have 3 more builds in the works before I build a 502cc Big Red!

First race at Saddle Back in So. Cal Baja Cross. This is mid 83', at the time Honda was not winning races. Right before the race Honda called the owner at Powroll and told them they should not send me down to So. Cal because this was a very fast car track and it would be too dangerous for me. Well you all know what happens when someone tells you not to do something! LOL So my first time there I won the overall. Thanks to John Neary for the pic.

This was the very first 85' 250r short course ATC raced. Honda brought the trike to the race and was still bolting the short course kit on it , along with the pipe. I never rode it until practice, the only change I made was the rear tires to lower it down with the 16x9.50x8's and so I could take off in 3rd gear. I was man enough to hold on to the 250 2 stroke HP so I had to let JW by.

Two years ago Cain Smead editor of Dirt Wheels took a big risk and put a 3 Wheeler on the cover for the first time in 30 years, since then he has gone to work at ATV.com. Since he left no one has did big articles in Dirt Wheels, but that may change any month now. If you don't get Dirt Wheels you may want to start receiving them again.

Just seen this cover of 3Wheeling Mag. on Face Book. This was my first time on a quad, a Powroll 240cc FourTrax. I guess this was the end of 3Wheeling, no 3 wheelers on the cover! Kind of reminds me of 3&4 wheel Action, now it's UTV Action! We need more 3 wheelers it Dirt Wheels to save this last Mag. from going totaly down hill! LOL

Does Dirt Wheels cover any national results in three wheeler racing today? Wondered if they got any pictures sent to them from like the NEEDT series.
ATV news come back! That paper was cool. They even covered ice racing! Cant believe nobody's printing a newspaper on racing around the country. Wish i had the time to contribute just for the enjoyment of it. Guys who race around would have excellent photos. Even back yard races for goodness sake!

No, I may bring them back for Trike Fest or Pine lake national depending when I get my projects ready.
