Yes - in 1980 the BIG HOSS trike was the ATC185 (non S model) It was big - the same size as the 1981- 1983 ATC200 (also non-S models)- 25" tires and larger frame than the later model 1981-1983 ATC185S (which is the same size as a 1984 - 1986 ATC200S)
Basically here is how it went:
1980 - ATC185 = large
1981 - 1982 ATC200 = large
1981 - 1982 ATC185S = smaller
1983 - ATC200 = large - update with front suspension
1983 - ATC185S = smaller - update with front suspension
1984 - 1986 ATC200S= smaller (no more larger model)
The 185 motor made slightly more horsepower (like less than 1 more HP) but the 200 made more torque. Any comparison made after about 1990 would not be very good considering worn out motors and
parts. I have had very fast and very slow 185 and 200 models - depending on how abused they were. I currently have a very low hour ATC185 and it has good power - btu the gearing is higher, so my ATC185S feels faster. Weight difference in machines is minimal
ATC200 ATC185 = Approx 299#
ATC185S ATC200S = Approx 270#
Now with only 12 - 14 HP - you have to take rider weight into consideration - also tires are a factor, a big heavy Trail-Pro will be much more weight to turn than a stock knobby.
