I thought about that being a problem and may need additional chain guides to keep it from rubber the frame/swing arm. Im going to put the motor in soon and check everything out and drive it around a little before sending it to be powdercoated. I saw a pic of the guy building a custom full suspension 185s and he had some good pics of his custom chain roller guides.
Well its a +5.5 swingarm and angled down twice as much as stock (rough guess) so a little trig and its about 4" longer?? I dont really know without getting some measurements.
Ive made some progress since my last post. I got the fork extensions made by dirtworks, and I made a chain guide and a few other things. Right now Ive got 17 inches of travel from under the frame to the ground and plan on making a tri z front wheel fit the front so I can run a taller tire. If I can get it to work then its a 30inch up front and a set of 28s in the rear with a nice set of wheels. I'd like to put the 200x topend on the 185s auto bottom end and powder coat everything and new plastic.
i like it. i don't know how it would handle but it sure has a "wow" factor
Thanks, Its not good for much other than the wow factor. I just like looking at it and knowing they'res not any thing like it.
I like the wow factor as well. Them 25s look like 20s on that hawg

It looks...UMMM, ERRR unique, interesting.
I think the metal testicles are understood..you can forget those!!!
Hate to say it but with this design, I kinda see a short trip over the handle bars in your future, but the judges will hold their numbers until the video shows how it runs out and handles. You are posting a video right??

I don't ever see myself going over 25 mph with this thing, thats for sure. It rides smooth, the back shock will bottom out easly though. I need to widen the rear end a bit to help make it more stabile.

Yes you are correct, the extra 6 inches of length to swingarm puts much more leverage to the rear shock. I have a shortened 350x shock on the rear to raise the height. The problem with the 350x shock is that the spring has a lower rate than a 200x spring, but its longer. Dirtworks couldnt find an aftermarket atv spring anywhere close to what comes stock on this. He did say they could probably find a spring from an anothe type of applications such as midget cars or something. But this seems to work ok the way it is as long as Im not doing any aggressive ridding, which I wont be. The 350x shock has been shorten quite a bit and only allows 7" of rear suspension travel with the long swing arm. I have the preload 3/4 of the way tightened down (but remember its a shortened shock, so it puts much more sag into the spring than a stock length 350x shock) it only sags about 3inches with me sitting on it and Im around 190lbs. So I guess I might risk breaking the spring if I bottom it out.
