Yes!! Thank you for posting this article! I've been waiting months for this issue to come out. I've been hearing about it for some time. I recently bought a Suzuki 500 and was considering taking it to Duncan to fresh'n up the motor considering that they are only about 15 minutes away from me. Since I've had this quad I can't say enough about how big and cadillac-esqe it is!! It's kind of like a Mack Truck on steroids. When riding this thing around the trails by my house it doesn't feel like it goes over the terrein it goes thru it! I still like the Honda but the Suzuki has more of everything and is a lot more comforatble.

Beautiful machines beerside............I've never bought into the hype surrounding the high revving valve benders! Many of my friends have ltr's, trx, and yfz 450's. And, there have been many big time failures with all of them. I won't go into the problems the local guys who actually race these things hard have. For the occasional rider the 450's last quite a while. Ride them hard and often, failure is imminent. Many people love to say "but the four stroke makes so much torque"!!!! Compared to a 250cc 2t, yes they make some nice torque. But, ya never hear anyone compare a 250cc 4t to a 250cc 2t. Reason, they don't make any torque, and would be an awful choice in a heavy quad chassis. From an engineering standpoint, a 2t engine is vastly superior in all performance areas for a single cylinder off road engine under 500cc compared to a 4t. I believe that a truly modern 2t engine of no more than 300cc would be the ultimate combo of torque, horsepower, revability, and durability, for a modern quad. Considering that KTM currently builds the absolute best 2t engines in the production world, they should build some quads with a c/b version of their 300xc engine and send all of the 4t's back to the trailer to have another look at their valves.......
