Question about Goki starter kit for ATC350x..

I have seen others mention the electric starter kit for an ATC350X but have never seen one..

Found the website and pricing..I assume they still sell them..

Does anyone have pics of the kit installed? I'd be interested in seeing it on the trike..

I saw one once on a 200x and am concerned about the location..hanging off the left side of the engine.

Perfect for cracking my shin on since I have long legs..

Secondly does the kit include everything?? Battery box, wiring, solenoid..I assume the battery is extra. But hope everything else is included. Am I correct??

Hey Doug, yes the kit comes complete minus the battery, they work awesome and it's well out of the way as for hitting your leg, the starter motor sits straight up pointing towards the gas tank next to cylinder!

When you do it,,,you know you're gonna : ) Grab a 250EX control switch, $38 and has the factory elec start button,,everything is very sano that way. I have kits for both 85 and 86 here,,but they're still in boxes.. There are pics on here,,that Anduaa's thread,,I believe that green one had one on it. They stick straight up towards the tank as said. And if you're stator covers cracked,,which I'm sure yours isn't,,you get a new one! If I'm not mistaken,,the guys that have them say they are very weak,,you have to kick them past tdc, then elec start. Not for me!! That's not elec start! But maybe w a bigger battery? They work good? Need some guys that have them to pipe in for sure.

I read a couple comments about the weak crank power also. Some guys saying that they had to rig up their decompression system with a hand lever to pull just to give the starter a chance to spin the motor..that would suck!!

Really don't need electric, I'm a big strong guy who can kick this trike with relative ease..

Problem happened for me a couple weeks ago while riding with my brother. We were riding some really muddy trails..the mud packed up around the kick and the grit jammed the kick from swinging out to the kick position.

While riding at the tail of the pack the guy in front of me panic stopped at the edge of a mudhole..I jumped on the brakes to avoid hitting him(dumbazz) but I wasn't fast enough on the clutch. Stalled..

There I was knee deep in mud, getting swarmed by bugs while the group f*&ed off down the trail..spent almost 20 minutes taking handfuls of water from a puddle and dumping it on the kick to wash away the mud so I could pull it out..

Vowed to see if I could find a decent electric start..I'm too old for that schit!!!

    Why the Goki, just preference?

My 350X's all start very easier with a simple kick or 2. But, they are jetted well, valves adjusted and decompression cable adjusted.

    Just curious...........

The Goki starter is pretty much out of the way. Although, it's a bit of an eyesore. But that can be tamed down by painting the cover and possibly the starter itself. It installs on the left side of the engine. The kit includes everything you need. To install the battery box you must remove your toolbox. Below is a link to the thread that will give you all the info needed:

    http://www.honda350x.com/forum/showt...highlight=goki

Some people that purchased one said the teeth that's attached to the Goki stator cover sometimes break because the gear metal is soft. Goki makes good with their warranty and sends another no questions asked. Goki also mentioned there was a batch that was defective and they addressed the issue.

Here's a review of installation from DirtWheels. They were using a quad:

Here two pics of the starter installed and they also show the battery in the rear.

Not partial..can be any electric starter kit if there are others.

Mine starts fine with a kick also..but the incident I mention previously with the kick jamming up with mud was my reason for considering installing electric start.
