1986 Honda models with the steering lock piece...anyone have this?

I noticed that the '86 Big Reds have a steering lock that is mounted on the upper front part of the frame that lets you lock the steering to one side, was this for all models or ? I see that you can still order this part from Honda, and I was wondering if it will fit the '87 models as well? The part # is 53600-HA0-680. See part #22 in the diagram: Click image for larger version.

There is a helmet holder tab mounted on the side of the headlight on all year Big Red, but this part is an acutal steering lock that has a key with it I believe. My buddy's '86 big red had it if I recall.

We have a 1986 200s with the steering lock. I believe that all 1986 and 1987 ATC had it, except for maybe the sport ATCs?

Not to revive a dead thread, but the locking mechanism itself uses the ignition key that comes with your rig correct? AND is specific to ONLY that ignition key correct?

My 86 125m has one and it uses the ingnition key. It is a really neet option to have but if you do not have it I do not think I would spend the Money to get one.

Yes, the lock uses the ignition key and is specific to that machine. I wondered as well and used my 87 key in my 86 lock and it would not work.
