ahh man this 10 post 2 month thing is killing me. although i am a quad guy all this ATC history is intresting. i'm totally diging all the honda info.
That is one sweet picture! We had some good old times in that very spot. Sand drags, quads, dirt bikes, nitro RC's, jeep, trucks, I even some subaru wrx's and sti's rip up the sand. However DLNR put a stop to all the fun. Now that area is blocked off by huge cement blocks with only about 2 feet gaps between them. It's strictly a fishing and homeless peoples spot now.
Are you from here? Maybe stationed here before?
I roll on a 86 and 88 Trx250r. I have another 87 that will be in the works soon. Just traded a quadzilla for the 88r.
Windward (old) boys here.
Yeah, I heard the spot was closed after a truck killed a sunbather around 04 05. Too bad, my friends and I used to go every weekend when I was on the island. From mid 90s when no one else rode there till 04 when the place would get crowded all kinds of vehicles.
When was the last time you rode Kahuku?
Last year before we were chased out.
man its been over a year since i rode at Kahuku. i think it was something like july of 2010. many of my friends still ride. i was racing on the MX track and busted up my frame pretty bad. front and rear motor mounts broke, subframe cracked, swing arm cracked, foot peg area cracked.
its taken a long time to get all my parts together. kind of hard finding a new frame to build off of. since then i have acquired 2 other 250R's. one is almost finished a complete rebuild. another i picked almost complete needing only a few things. its taking a long time and i find myself spreading my time and funds thin. slowly these two are getting done. my last R is the one that i bused up at kahuku. it will be last on the to-do-list. a monster build with a monster motor. its one of my "bucket list" toys.
